Before I share today’s card I just wanted to mention something. In the past week or so, I’ve received three orders where the customer has chosen No Contact during checkout. What this means is that the customer would prefer I not be given their name or address. This is perfectly fine but the last time I received a No Contact order, the customer didn’t realize that No Contact had been chosen. When No Contact is marked off, I cannot send a thank you card or free card kits because Stampin’ Up! will not release your name to me. If you’ve recently placed an order and haven’t heard from me and mistakenly checked the No Contact box, please contact me by clicking the email me button on the right side of my blog.
Today’s card is another one where the star of the show is the Designer Series Paper. Don’t you just love the birds on this cute Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper?
I used Crumb Cake for the base of my card and then added a layer of Pool Party. Another color in the Designer Series Paper is Mossy Meadow so I chose that color to stamp the sentiment and layered it with a Pool Party base. Where I chose to put the sentiment depended on the Designer Series Paper as I didn’t want to block any of the birds! Both the Free as a Bird stamp set and Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper are part of the Bird Ballad Suite, a group of coordinating products.
Directions to Make Today’s Card
- Cut a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock that measures 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″. Score at 4-1/4″. Fold in half. This will be your card base.
- Cut a piece of Pool Party cardstock that measures 5-1/4″ x 4″. Adhere to the card base.
- Cut a piece of Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper that measures 5″ x 3-3/4″. Adhere to the front of the card.
- Stamp the sentiment onto Whisper White cardstock using Mossy Meadow ink and the stamp set Free as a Bird. Cut it out using the Layering Ovals Dies and a die-cutting machine. Cut a larger oval using Pool Party cardstock. Layer this piece with sentiment using Snail adhesive. Add Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back and adhere to the front of the card.
