Gummi Bears

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, I definitely have candy on the brain!  Really, who am I kidding?  I always think about candy.  🙂    I bought little packs of Gummi Bears and once my boxes were made I hoped the bags would fit inside.  I was happy when I was able to fit four in comfortably.   I bought them at Amazon and I will provide the link below if you are interested in getting some.

I used the Stacked with Love Designer Series Paper Pack for the top of my box and coordinating cardstock for the bottom.  Here’s another one using paper from the same pack. I used Whisper White for the base.

Both the top and base of the box use paper that measures 5- 1/2 x 4 -1/2.   The difference is where you score them so that the top will fit on the box.  The DSP (top) is scored at 15/16th on all four sides and the cardstock (bottom) is scored at 1″ on all four sides.

Below are the supplies I used for both boxes.  Click on any of the pictures and you’ll be taken to my Stampin’ Up! online store.  The Sweetheart Punch is on sale until Monday, February 9th (you’ll see the sale price when you click on it) and the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper is also on sale.  I used silver on my project but they are very similar.

Rocky Road Box

The other day while at the grocery store, I saw my favorite candy bar! Why the excitement?  It’s because I don’t see it very often.  I used to purchase them at the only store in town that carried them and then all of a sudden they were no longer on the shelves. When I saw ten of them at the grocery store, yes, I grabbed all ten of them! Who knows if they will be restocked so I did what I needed to do and into my cart they went!  Ever since I can remember, this was also my dad’s favorite so it really makes me think of him and smile.

On to my project! For the last several days I’ve been playing around with my Envelope Punch Board and thought it would be fun to make a box (did you know that this punch board isn’t just for making envelopes???) that fit the candy bar perfectly.

It took a little playing around with it, but here’s what I came up with!

RR box

RR box belly band

Once the box was made, I did have to make a few adjustments so that the box would close. You can see the two ends that would normally be pointed but I cut off just enough so that the box would shut. I used the Stacked with Love DSP pack to make a belly band around the box.  Each of the sheets in the pack are 4 1/2″ wide but I cut my down to 3 inches.  After wrapping the paper around the box I tied it up with our beautiful organza ribbon.  I used some sparkly silver glimmer paper to attach my sentiment to and using white Baker’s Twine, I wrapped it around the ribbon.

Nothing says you care like giving someone their favorite candy bar wrapped up in a pretty little box!
