Pretty Pines by Stampin’ Up!

pretty-pines-christmas-card

When I saw these cute little mini pinecones in the Holiday Catalog, I just knew I had to get them. I had no idea how I’d use them but knew I was going to order them as soon as possible.  Do you see one of them nestled among the larger pine cones? Cute, isn’t it???

My inspiration for this card came from Tamara Grenier, an Australian Stampin’ Up! demonstrator.  I thought her card was gorgeous.  I made a few minor changes to my version.

Card Details

  • I ran my 4-1/2″ x 2-3/4″ of Whisper White through the Softly Falling Embossing Folder and glued it to a 3″ x 4-3/4″ piece of Copper Foil.
  • Using the Pretty Pines Thinlits Dies (you can see all of the pieces in the set below), I cut out two pinecones and the larger bow in the set with the Copper Foil.
  • I cut three pine needles using Whisper White.
  • I adhered the pine needles onto the card using our multipurpose liquid glue.
  • I also used multipurpose glue to adhered the pine cones and bow together.
  • I looped the mini pinecone through the Baker’s Twine and then tied my bow and attached it with a glue dot.
  • My sentiment was stamped with Memento Ink. I used the stamp set Embellished Ornaments.

Vintage Leaves by Stampin’ Up!

I have one more fall card to share with you! I tried a technique called Faux Watercoloring. After stamping my leaves, I took my Aqua Painter and pulled the color away from the edges.  I will be very honest and say that I don’t really care for the way these leaves look when they are stamped directly onto paper but I love the way they look with this technique.  I think it softens the leaves up.

Stampin’ Up! Fancy Frost Paper

loving-wishes

It’s Day 3 of the Stampin’ Up! Online Extravaganza!  Another product on sale this week and also, while supplies last is our Fancy Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper.  I bought this paper when it first came out in the Holiday Catalog.  I hate to admit it but I didn’t open the package until just last week.  I am sorry I waited so long because it’s just gorgeous.  Once a product sells out, I don’t feature it on my blog because I don’t like to show items you can’t buy. I hope it doesn’t sell out quickly so that I can continue to use it, but just in case, I made my card for today.

The 12″ x 12″ paper is white-on-white with textured designs. So pretty!  You can leave it plain or add color to it which is what I with my card today.

One side of the paper is raised (embossed) and the other is not.  I have an example of both sides below with the same colors – Pacific Point and Night of Navy.  I prefer the side where the paper is raised – the one on the left but both look nice.

Each package of paper comes with 12 sheets.  It normally sells for $13.00 but it’s on sale for $9.10.  I think you won’t be disappointed with this gorgeous paper!

The website I normally use to show you all of the products I use is currently down.  Below though you’ll find links for the paper and the stamp set I used for the sentiment.  Clicking the links will take you directly to my online store.
