Mother’s Day Card

If you’re a mom, I hope you had a wonderful day yesterday!  I wasn’t able to be with my daughters but I spent the day with my mom which made me happy!

Today I’m sharing the card I made for my mom.  I recently purchased the Large Letters Framelits and thought they’d work perfectly for the card I wanted to create! I will be completely frank with you here and say that these Framelits are very pricey but letters never go out of style.  Right?  You can use them for cards, scrapbook layouts, small gifts . . . .  I’ll work on some projects in the near future showing different ways to use these very versatile dies.  These dies are also available as a bundle with the Letters For You stamp set which will save you 10%. I know it ‘s a bit confusing but the bundle is on the retiring list although the individual products will still be in the new catalog.  The bundle price is only while supplies last.  Click on the picture below if you’d like to add this bundle to your cart.

Letters for You Bundle
#142348

I used three new products that you can purchase on June 1st when the new catalog goes live.  The base of my card is Berry Burst, one of the new In Colors.  I’m a pink girl so this color makes me very happy.  My flowers were made using  the Berry Burst stamp pad.

Normally I wouldn’t show you a card using three different stamp sets, but since I was making this card for my mom, I went all out. My little flower was stamped with Birthday Blooms, the greenery is from Jar of Love and Love You, comes from a new stamp set (again, available on June 1st) called Happy Birthday Gorgeous.  The sentiment actually says, I Love You, but I only inked up Love You.

After inking up my letters, I cut two more of each letter and stacked them on top of each other using Liquid Multipurpose Glue.  I ended up still using Stampin’ Dimensionals to get more height but if I had to do it again, I would have added more layers instead.

I used Wild Wasabi for one of the card layers and the greenery.  I tend to like darker greens but Wild Wasabi worked beautifully for the look I wanted.

Stamping Supplies – Here’s the list of all the supplies I used (I can’t post new products until the catalog goes live on June 1, 2017).  See something you want to purchase?  Just click the pic and you’ll head on over to my online store!

Picking Strawberries & Fruit Stand Paper

Last week I went strawberry picking with my daughter and grandchildren.  It didn’t take long to pick a ton of berries and they were so delicious! We had rain a few days later so we were glad we had timed our visit just right!

As I was eating strawberry after strawberry, I remembered that I had strawberry paper in my package of Fruit Stand Designer Series Paper (this paper is on sale 20% and while supplies last).  I couldn’t pass up making a card with this cute paper. I’ll post all the dimensions but can I share a few pictures first?

This pocket card is very easy card to make! You’ll make two score lines – one  at the halfway point and the other will be folded down to create the pocket.

The sides of the card are not glued together but instead tied up with linen thread.  The Fruit Stand Designer Series Paper includes 12 sheets of  12″ x 12″ two sided paper  and what I’ve used shows both sides of one sheet. Ready for the measurements?  If you make this card, I’d love to see your creation!

Whisper White (base of card):  11″ x 4-1/4″  score at 5-1/2″ and  1-1/2″

Designer Series Paper:  4″ x 3″   and   4″ x 1-1/4″

Whisper White (for inside of card):  5-1/4″ x 4″

Have a wonderful weekend!

Butterfly Basics Flowery Wishes

For the past several days I’ve shared several ideas using the stamp set Butterfly Basics.  It’s a great set with so many possibilities and it comes in either wood mount, clear or photopolymer.

To create my card, I first stamped it with Memento Ink onto Whisper White cardstock and then used my Copic markers to color it, which are a non Stampin’ Up! product.  The base of the card is Whisper White.  I embossed a piece of Whisper White cardstock using the Petal Burst embossing folder and layered it on top of a piece of Real Red cardstock..  The sentiment, also included in the Butterfly Basics stamp set, was stamped in Memento Ink and cut out with the Layering Ovals Framelits using the Big Shot.

Card Dimensions – Below you’l find the dimensions for my card.  I love seeing your creations so if you make this card, please email me!  You’d make my day!

Whisper White (card base):  8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″  scored at 4-1/4″

Real Red:   5-1/4″ x 4″

Whisper White (embossed layer):  5″ x 3-3/4″

Real Red:  4″ x 2-1/2″

Whisper White (flower):  3-3/4″ x 2-1/4″

Butterfly Basics Butterflies

I have another card today using the stamp set Butterfly Basics and it definitely falls into the category of Quick and Easy!  The sentiment is also from this set!

I love the clean look of Bermuda Bay, Pacific Bay and Whisper White!

To complete the card, I added pearls down the center of each butterfly.  In a few weeks, when the new catalog goes live on June 1st, you’ll be able to order pearls again.  The packages have been reconfigured so they went up on the retired list and sold out quickly.

All of the supplies I used to create my card are listed below.  I love seeing your creations so if you try this card out, I’d love to see what you’ve made!

Butterfly Basics and Elegant Eggplant

I am so happy that the stamp set I used for my card today – Butterfly Basics – will be in the new catalog!  I was inspired by Dawn Griffith’s card in the First Fridays Blog Hop last week and decided to try my hand at creating a card which focuses on  one color.  I tend to like bright, colorful cards so this was something new for me.

I love purple and the Elegant Eggplant card stock is one of my favorites but sometimes the ink can look a bit too dark.  So, before stamping onto my Whisper White card stock, I stamped off onto a piece of white computer paper.  The color that I achieved doing this was exactly what I wanted.

All of my stamped images are from the Butterfly Basics set, including the sentiment!  I randomly stamped around the paper and then added the sentiment towards the bottom using the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies and popped it up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I added pearls to the center of the flowers and the butterflies.  I normally don’t use a product that you can’t purchase but I did make this exception.  Our Basic Pearls are no longer available but they will be back in the new catalog, just reconfigured (I haven’t seen them yet but I believe the sizes of the pearls will be different).

If you have this stamp set and give this a try, I’d love to hear from you and see the card you created!

All of the products I used to make my card are listed below!

I’ll be back with another card using this set tomorrow!
