Flowery Hello

Flowery HelloToday’s card is quick and easy!  I used the stamp set Garden in Bloom which comes with flowers, leaves, butterflies, sentiments and a bee!  It is a 2 step stamping set  – you use two stamps to create one image.  In this case, I stamped the outline of my flower in Rose Red.  Then I used a different stamp for the center.  I inked the stamp up, stamped it on scratch paper and then stamped it inside my flower.  The leaves were stamped in this same way.  I stamped the body of the bee with Memento ink and then inked up the small oval (right next to the bee in the picture below) in Daffodil Delight and stamped right on top of the bee.  Easy!!

Hello, Sweet Friend

Hello, Sweet Friend

I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to post today as it has been a busy week traveling and visiting family.  Before we left, I started today’s card and was able to finish it up today.

The flowers are from the new stamp set Birthday Blossoms.  As soon as I saw it in the catalog I knew I wanted it because I felt they would be just perfect for coloring!  I stamped the flowers and leaves with Memento Ink and colored them with my Copics.  I could have used the Pansy Punch to cut out my flowers but I chose to cut them with my paper snips.  We don’t have a punch for the leaves so they were cut out too.

I had a vision for the finished card but when I started to put it together, I wasn’t happy with it.  I had a different type of fold so that my flowers would hang off of the paper.  When you use alcohol ink markers, it tends to bleed through to the back of the paper.  Perfectly normal but I didn’t want to see the backs when the card was opened.  So, I carefully peeled the flowers off of my cardstock (I used Tombow) but they were still attached as a group.  I ended up placing a few Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back and placed it on my card. I felt a little sick when I started peeling them off the paper and was so relieved when nothing ripped.  Whew!!

I finished it off with a sentiment from Six Sided Sampler stamped with Rich Razzzleberry.

Hello Sunshine Revisited

I posted this card yesterday but haven’t had a chance until now to give you the details about it so thought I would just start a new post.  The flowers come from the set Butterfly Basics in the Occasions catalog. I am happy to say that it will carry over and be in the new catalog.  It has been a very popular stamp set!

Hello Sunshine

I stamped the flower in Memento Ink  onto Whisper White cardstock.  Unfortunately Stampin’ Up! no longer carries colored pencils so I used my Prismacolor set to color in the petals and leaves.  I find it so relaxing to color.  I thought about using my blender pen to soften the colors a bit but I did this while at my mom’s and didn’t have one with me.  My sentiment comes from the set So You, also in the Occasions catalog, but sadly it will not be carrying over.  I wish I had started using this set when it first came out!

I used Blackberry Bliss cardstock, which I felt complimented the purple used for the flowers. I popped up the top layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  All in all, it’s a fairly quick and easy card to make!

Thank you for stopping by today!  As always, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask!
