Thankful

ThankfulHappy Friday!  Yesterday I mentioned that I was heading to the DMV to renew my license.  One piece of advice:  make an appointment online!  Oh my gosh, I was in and out in ten minutes!  It was very painless.  Now I just hope my picture turns out!!

Today’s card uses a very fun product from the Holiday catalog called Expressions Thinlits dies. These are used with your Big Shot and are very easy to use.  I found that using waxed paper made the words just pop out of the die.  The sandwich I used was:  cutting plate, cardstock, waxed paper, thinlit, cutting plate.  I used dots of glue with the 2 way glue pen to adhere the word to my card.  I also used the 1 1/4″ Burlap ribbon.  I don’t know why I waited so long to use this product!Expressions Thinlits

Have a wonderful rest of the day!

Joyful Christmas

Joyful Christmas

Welcome to my new blog!  I am so glad that you are here!! Over the last several months I have had to take a step back from my Stampin’ Up! business.  I’ve been very fortunate to spend a great deal of time babysitting my granddaughter, who does not live in the same area as I do.  She’s a joy and I enjoy every moment that I can with her!  On the days that I babysit, I am pretty much worn out!  If you are a grandmother, I am sure you understand!  I am back home again and plan to visit again very soon.

It has been nice to be back in my craft room! I’ve been busy making cards AND learning how to navigate my new blog platform!  There are still things to figure out (such as how to make my text larger!) but I decided to just go ahead and jump in with my first entry.  Please note that my promotions on the right side have NOT been updated.  I am in the process of learning how to do this.

Onto my card!  We made this at my club meeting last week.  I just love this stamp set (Joyful Christmas)!  It is so pretty stamped onto vellum with white embossing powder.  In person, it is just beautiful!  I stamped the poinsettia twice and then cut each one out and used a dimensional to lay the smaller flower on top.  The Frosted Finishes Embellishment in the middle of the flower just adds so much wow to the card.  My paper comes from the Winter Frost Designer Series Pack.  I NEVER would have thought to use blue as a background for a Christmas card but it really does work!

I am off to the DMV to renew my license.  I have an appointment so I am hoping it goes well! Again, thanks so much for stopping by today.

Envelope Pouch

I feel just awful that I haven’t posted in so long.  I’ve been helping out my daughter by babysitting our granddaughter and at the end of the day I am too tired to do much of anything!  The other day though I did get some time in my craft room and made this pouch using the Envelope Punch Board.  I slipped in two packages of Almond Roca.  Wouldn’t this be great for some of your adult friends on Halloween?

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Another Sunburst

Today I have another Sunburst card for you using the paper Sweater Weather which can be found in the Holiday Catalog.  This time I just used two patterns as opposed to the four I used on this card.

My husband and I are babysitting our granddaughter today so we are off to go pick her up!  Have a wonderful day!
