Tomorrow’s the Day!

The Holiday Catalog goes live tomorrow, September 1st!! At 3:00 AM (Mountain Time), you’ll be able to start ordering from this catalog packed with fun new products.

I’ll also be participating in the First Fridays Blog Hop tomorrow where we’ll be focusing on Fall (right about now, a change in seasons sounds wonderful as we’ve had three straight days of temperatures as high as 107).  I’ll be using one of the new papers in the Holiday Catalog called Painted Autumn for my projects.  It’s gorgeous paper!!!  Although the hop officially starts on Friday, we will be posting later tonight to make sure all of our links are working.

If you don’t have a demonstrator and would like a Holiday Catalog, please email me your name and address and I’d be happy to send one off to you!

Monthly Gifts with Each Order

With each Stampin’ Up! order placed through me, I like to send out a little gift.  Each month it’s always something different!

This month I’m sending out a little treat bag. A cellophane bag is attached inside with a strip of Tear and Tape and that’s the only adhesive needed to complete the project.

I’ve wrapped ribbon around the top to keep everything closed up and secure.

I’d love to send one out to you!  To place an order, click here

Tool Time Tuesday – Stampin’ Trimmer

New stampers always ask me what tools are essential and what they should purchase first.  I believe that having an excellent paper trimmer is always a must! One of the great features of the Stampin’ Trimmer is not only does it give you great cuts but you can score paper with it as well!

The cutting and scoring blades (included with the trimmer) are both easily removed and can be replaced.  The Stampin’ Trimmer has an extra wide cutting base that measures 6-1/4″, a feature I really like, but if needed, it has an arm that will extend an extra 8 inches!

More features of the Stampin’ Trimmer:

  •  Store your extra blades in a compartment on the underside of the trimmer.  It’s big enough to add a bone folder, pencil and other crafting supplies
  •  The base is covered in a durable plastic that will protect the grid marks and ruler.
  •  There’s a grid on the right hand side for cutting thin strips.
  •  The arm will lock into place when you aren’t using it.

It truly is an excellent trimmer and if you were to walk into my craft room right now, you’d see one sitting on my desk.

Below is an excellent video showing all the features of the Stampin’ Trimmer.  The video was created four years ago but the information included will really give you a good idea of what this trimmer has to offer!   If you’re reading this in an email, click here to view the video.

If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to ask!

Make Your Own Envelope!

When you create your own cards, sometimes they won’t fit into a standard envelope.  That’s never a worry with the Envelope Punch Board! You can create any size envelope to fit your creation.  Measure your card and then check the chart located right on the Envelope Punch Board and you’ll know the size your paper needs to be and where to score your paper.

I needed an envelope for a gift certificate that measured  5″ x 5″ so I pulled out my Envelope Punch Board. and made a custom envelope.  According to the chart above, I needed to cut my Foil Frenzy Designer Series Paper to 8 1/8″ x 8 1/8″  and score the paper at 4-1/8″.  At the end of my post, you’ll find a great video from Stampin’ Up! showing how easy it is to make an envelope! Trim Your Stockings Thinlits Sneak Peek

I have a sneak peek for you today from the Holiday Catalog which goes live on September 1, 2017!  The Trim Your Stockings Thinlits Dies immediately caught my eye because you can create gift card holders and I love gift card holders.  You can create a cute Stocking gift card holder with these dies but I chose to make a pillow box.

Polished Stone and Watercolor Words

The Polished Stone Technique really is a lot of fun and in a previous post I shared how to do it.  You can see that post here.  I needed a birthday card last week and had this background just sitting on my craft table waiting for me to use it. It’s very hard to see in the picture, but the surface is very shiny because glossy paper is used.

I used the stamp set Watercolor Words and stamped my sentiment using Memento Ink.  I wasn’t sure how it was going to work on the glossy paper but it was fine, I just needed to let it sit overnight.  I’m thinking that Archival Ink would have been better but I’ll have to try that another time. I embossed “to you” with white embossing powder on Basic Black paper and used the stamp set Happy Birthday Gorgeous.  I popped the sentiment with Mini Stampin Dimensionals.

I used Bermuda Bay for the base of the card and Basic Black for the second layer.

Stamping Supplies:  Unfortunately I don’t remember which combination of reinkers I used to create my background but I do know one color was Bermuda Bay.  It’s possible I also used Island Indigo, but I am not sure.  For more information about these supplies, click on each individual picture below.
