When I first saw the stamp set Crafting Forever, I knew I’d be adding it to my stamp collection. I especially love the sentiment, Crafting Forever, Housework Whenever. That is SO me! Once I start crafting, I forget about everything, especially housework!
This card was created out of my comfort zone. Each week my team leader, Dawn, gives us a card sketch to create from. I don’t participate each week but thought I’d give this one a try. You don’t have to create a card exactly like the sketch, it’s simply a starting point. Sometimes they are really hard for me and sometimes I can create quickly. This one was hard for me. Here’s the sketch I worked from and as you can see, mine is different.
My measurements are different from the sketch. Here’s what I used:
- Real Red: 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″ 1-1/2″ x 4-3/4″ scrap for circle
- Whisper White: 4″ x 5-1/4″ 1-1/4″ x 4-1/2″ 2-1/2″ x 3″ scrap for sentiment
- Bermuda Bay: 2-3/4″ x 3-1/4″ scrap for circle
Two of my panels were run through the Quilt Top Textured Embossing Folder. I used Memento Ink to stamp the paintbrushes and colored them in with Stampin’ Blends. Because the Blends cannot be ordered at this time (they should be back in stock in May), I haven’t listed them in the supply list. The colors I used were: Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight, Crumb Cake and Smoky Slate.
Fun Tip: I took my Dark Bermuda Bay Stampin’ Blend and colored two of our White Perfect Blends. I also tried a Stampin’ Write Marker to see if I’d get the same results but the color wouldn’t stay on. The Blends worked perfectly! I did use the Bright Enamel Shapes for my red accents.
If you have any questions about today’s card, let me know. All the supplies I used are listed below. For easy shopping, click any of the images and you’ll head over to my Stampin’ Up! online store.
