Road Trip!

Yesterday was a tiring but fun day.  My daughter, Jenny, and I took a road trip from Northern California to Southern California.  We started out very early in the morning and made it in time for the start of the Super Bowl! We are in Temecula which is where my other daughter, Erin, lives.  Jenny is planning to move to Los Angeles soon and will be staying with with us in Temecula until she finds a job and a place to live.  I haven’t seen Erin or Audrey (my adorable granddaughter) yet and can’t wait to see them later today! Have I mentioned recently that I love being a grandma??!!!

Before our road trip I was busy working on stamping projects and videos!  Here’s one of my projects – a lollipop holder!  I made them using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch! So easy to make and wouldn’t they be fun to make for Valentine’s Day??  Tomorrow I will post a video so you can follow along and make your own!

My 500th blog post is fast approaching and there will definitely be some blog candy to win that day!!!

Sale-a-bration Day 2!

Anyone who knows me will not be surprised to know that my favorite Sale-a-bration FREEBIE is the embossing folder, Decorative Dots.  The moment I saw it I knew I had to have it!  You can have it too with a $50 order!  This might be confusing but although there’s a price on all of the items in the Sale-a-bration brochure, they  cannot be purchased, only earned free.

Now on to my card which was inspired by fellow demo, Ronda Wade.   The base of my card  is Sahara Sand and I embossed my Whisper White cardstock with the Decorative Dots embossing folder .  It is on top of a piece Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock which is one of the colors that coordinates with the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper that I used (another item you can get during Sale-a-bration, absolutely free).

Notice the fringed Pool Party cardstock?  I did this using the new Fringed Scissors in the Occasions catalog.

The Crisp Cantaloupe twine is from the Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack – another Sale-a-bration freebie! My sentiment comes from Starburst Sayings.  There’s a matching Framelit with this set but I chose to use one of the circles from the Circles Framelits.

New Product & Weekly Deals

A new product is available today – the Texture Boutique Embossing Machine!  This machine ONLY embosses, it does not cut as the Big Shot does.  It is small so it is easier to have on your craft table.  At the moment, Stampin’ Up! has a limited supply of these and they are available until supplies last but it WILL be available in the upcoming annual catalog in July.  Check out this video to learn more!

Quick and Cute

Did you have a nice weekend?  I went to the movies TWICE this past weekend!  I love going to the movies but lately it seems that I rarely go. My daughter, Jenny, and I saw Saving Mr. Banks and August:  Osage County – two completely opposite movies.  We had lots of fun and lots of conversation after each one!

Today I have a happy birthday card that was so easy to put together.  The base of my card is Island Indigo with a piece of Watercolor Wonder DSP on top of it.  I love this DSP!  The greens and blues are so pretty and I decided to use it on my card as if it was a piece of wrapping paper on a gift.  It is “tied up” with our pretty organza ribbon. I stamped a few flowers from the set Petite Petals on a piece of Whisper White cut out with a Chalk Talk Framelit.  My sentiment is from Sassy Salutations.  I used snail to adhere this piece to my card but think it might look nicer with some Stampin’ Dimensionals.  If you are looking for a quick and cute card, this is it!
