Convention Day 1

Convention starts today and it’s a jam packed day! Here’s another one of the swaps I made! The elephant is so cute and the little pearl on his eye makes him come alive (although I’ll admit it doesn’t show up well in the picture). I stamped his ear in Strawberry Slush, cut it out and popped it up with a dimensional. I hope to have lots of pictures to show tomorrow. Have a great day!

Heading to Salt Lake City Tomorrow

Life has been so darn busy the last few weeks.  Tomorrow I leave for the Stampin’ Up! Convention in Salt Lake City.  I’ve been busy for weeks making cards to swap with other demonstrators.  I’m in four organized swaps, which are finished, bagged up and in my carry-on bag.  I have a few more to finish up to swap with others outside of the organized ones.  I’ll share my swaps with you over the next few days as well as some pictures once the convention begins.  There are always so many displays and great ideas! I’m looking forward to seeing my friend, Kristina, in Salt Lake City tomorrow!  She lives in Kansas and I last saw her a year ago at Convention.  I am very much looking forward to catching up with her although we email each other on a regular basis. It is different actually seeing someone in person.  I can’t wait! I’m off to go pack!

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I’ll leave you with a video by Stampin’ Up that will tell you all about our wonderful embossing folders — one of my favorite products!

Make a Wish

Hi Friends!
I’m not sure what you call this type of card but when opened up, there’s a pocket for a gift card.    I don’t know about you but I give a lot of gift cards.  This gift card holder is pretty quick to make and it fits inside a regular sized envelope! How perfect is that??

I’ve used one of the Designer Series Papers on sale this month, Birthday Basics.   If you buy 3 packs, you get one free!  You can choose from 11 different packages!

 Birthday Basics  # 130145  $10.95

I also used one of our new Framelits, the Circles Collection and my Magnetic Platform for the sentiment.  I stamped it first and then placed my circle exactly where I wanted it using the magnetic platform.  I LOVE this new tool, no more post its!

If you would like to place an order and/or see the packages of paper on sale, just click here to go to my online store.

Happy Father’s Day!

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there!! I lost my dad in 2009 but still think about him daily, especially on Father’s Day.   Life is not the same without him.  Here’s a picture of the two of us 33 years ago when I got married.  Give your dad a big hug and let him know how much you love him!!

Wildflower Meadow

Hi Friends!

This was a fun card to make!  I used the stamp Wildflower Meadow along with the Wildflower Meadow embossing folder. In order to get all of the different colors, I used my Stampin’ Write markers directly on the rubber. Once you’ve finished coloring, it is important to huff all over the stamp to reactivate the ink as it will start to dry out as you are finishing.  It does take some time but I think the results are so pretty!  The finishing touch is running it through the embossing folder.  I was a bit intimidated a first to do this but it is very easy to line up your stamped image in the folder.  Of course, you could choose not to use the folder and your results will still be beautiful!

If you are thinking about purchasing both of these, you can buy them individually or purchase them as a set and save 15%!  You can order online HERE.

Have a great day!

Spotlight on Tools The Magnetic Platform

This is my VERY FAVORITE tool in the new catalog!!!  I just received mine last week and I love it!  When using Framelits, they tend to move around while on the multi-purpose platform.  A common trick to keep them in place has been to use post it notes.  But now with the new magnetic platform, no more post its!! When you place your Framelit on the platform, it instantly stays in place.  You do have better results with cutting plates that are flat but at the moment I don’t have any flat ones and it is still working just fine. (There is a warning on the side of the platform that this product should not be used by anyone with a pacemaker.)  Here’s the video again on how to use the platform if you didn’t get a a chance to see it a few weeks ago when I posted it!
Have you purchased the Magnetic Platform or is it on your Wish List?   Please post your comments below.  I would love to hear your thoughts about it!

New Washi Tape

Hi Friends!
I almost didn’t post this card because I can’t decide if I like it or not.  I used our new Gingham Garden Washi tape.  Washi tape is so popular now and I have to admit that this is the first time that I’ve used it.  It is so easy to peel off the roll and adhere to your card.  I’m sure I will be making many more cards with this fun product!

I’ve also used a new stamp set and punch on my card!  I used one of the stamps from the set Label Love and punched it out with the Artisan punch.  How did I get the different colors on the stamped image?  I used my Stampin’ Write Markers directly on the stamp!   If you would like to purchase both the stamp set Label Love and the Artisan punch, be sure to use the Bundle order numbers.  You’ll save 15%! (Wood Bundle:  132723, Clear Mount:  132722)

Thanks so much for dropping by today.  If you would like to order any of the products I’ve used on my card, you can visit my SU! online store HERE.

Six-Sided Sampler

Hi Friends!
We have unbearable heat here in California this week.  Thank goodness for air conditioning!!  It is supposed to cool down and only be in the 80’s today. So happy about that!!

Yesterday I had a Catalog Kickoff and this is one of the cards we made.  I used many new items on it first of which is one of our beautiful new In Colors, Coastal Cabana.  I wasn’t sure what colors would go best with it so I consulted my Color Coach and found that Calypso Coral was a match.  I never would have paired these together but I was very pleased with how pretty it looked.  I also used our new stamp set, Six-Sided Sampler with the Hexagon punch.  You could spend all day making different variations with this stamp set and punch.  Change up the colors, vary the stamps from the set and the placement of your stamped pieces and you will have some stunning results!!

Have a wonderful day!

Mosaic Madness #3

Here is my last Mosaic Madness card (well, at least for a while)!!  This one combines both of the images I used on the cards earlier in the week.  I stayed with my favorite color combination – Gumball Green and Midnight Muse! I do have a rhinestone in the center of each shape.  I do love the pretty glimmer and glitz of a few well-place rhinestones!!

Thanks for much for stopping by!  Visit my ONLINE STORE to purchase the products used to make this card!
