Mother’s Day Card

Hi Friends!
Today I have a Mother’s Day card for you!  I used the stamp set Fabulous Florets, one I have to admit I have had for some time but have rarely used.  I used the Color Wash technique.  I embossed my flowers and then painted them with Whisper White craft ink.  After it dried, I used my Rich Razzleberry stamp pad and my Aqua Painter and finished coloring my flowers.  My sentiment looks crooked – that is driving me crazy – but in person it is straight.  🙂  It is hard to see in the photo but I also added some pearls in the center of each flower.  The stamp set I used, Wonderful Mother, is retiring so get it now if you like it!

I’m giving this card to my mom for Mother’s Day – I know she won’t see this post before I give it to her.   I have another Mother’s Day card that I will show tomorrow!

Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!

Oh, Hello

Hi Friends!
Today’s card is one that was inspired by a card I saw in Stampin! Success, a magazine for demonstrators.  It uses the Honeycomb embossing folder for the Big Shot which has become one of my favorite folders.  The stamp set I used is Oh, Hello.  I stamped the chevron pattern in Crumb Cake and used my Oval Framelits and Big Shot to cut it out.  To color the flower I used my Gumball Green and Elegant Eggplant Stampin’ Write markers and applied the color directly to the stamp.  It is such an easy way to get different colors on a stamped image.  I made a little bow with Linen Thread and adhered it with a two-way glue pen.  I used dimensionals to apply the honeycomb layer to my card base to give it extra dimension.

It’s Your Birthday

Today’s card is another version of a card I made a few weeks ago.  You can see it HERE.    I made this card before I knew that Pretty in Pink was not going to be in the new catalog.  Purple is my favorite color and I really do like this combination.  We will have a new shade of pink in the new catalog so I will definitely need to see how one of my favorite colors, Elegant Eggplant, coordinates with it.  My button is from the Subtles collection.  Each of our collections of buttons will be changing with the new catalog because some colors are going away and different ones are being added into each family.  These are on the retiring accessories list.  Click here to see what is still available on the Accessories List!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!  Hope you are having a terrific weekend!

Swallowtail Revisited

Love my Swallowtail stamp! You can see the card I did with a Midnight Muse butterfly HERE.  On today’s card I used Gumball Green with Midnight Muse card stock as my base and mat along with a  sheet from the Print Poetry Designer Series Pack. This stamp is in the Spring Catalog and there’s no guarantee that it will be in the new catalog.  If you love it, I would pick it up now!!

The RETIRING LIST comes out on Wednesday!  Stampin’ Up! will let us know all the sets that will not be returning in the new catalog.  I am hoping my favorites stay but am really excited to see what new things are in store for us!

Have a great day!

Make a Wish

I love cards that remind me of handmade quilts which is why this card was so much fun to make.  I punched squares with the Sprinkles and Sunshine Designer Series Paper using my Postage Stamp punch.  My pinwheel center is a flattened Soda Pop Top (love these). I punched a heart using the Owl Builder punch, placed it in the center and added Crystal Effects to make it nice and shiny! I can’t wait to try using different papers with this pattern! This is another card inspired by Maggie Patterson and Ronda Wade.

Horse Frontier

This beautiful card was made by a member of my downline, Linda Wheelock.  She used the stamp set Horse Frontier which is a set that I don’t own so I’m glad that I can show you such a gorgeous card using it. Linda used a new Designer Series paper from the Spring Catalog called Parker’s Patterns. The Labels Collection Framelits were used to frame the horse and the sentiment on the inside. She also used the Houndstooth Embossing folder.  The button is the only product on her card that isn’t Stampin’ Up!

Mini Album

Here’s another project we made last week at my Customer Reward Extravaganza.  I made my album with pictures of my sweet granddaughter, Audrey.

The album base is Marina Mist cardstock and I used Polka Dot Parade Designer Series Paper to decorate the front and some of the inside panels.   My Big Shot dies were used to make my Rich Razzleberry mats for my pictures:  3 1/2″ Circle Die, Scallop Circle Bigz and Scallop Square Bigz Clear die.  A belly band around the album keeps it closed.  It is small enough to tuck into your purse and carry it around with you!

Petite Pocket Die

I’ve had the Petite Pocket Die since it first came out and this is the first time I’ve used it.  Why did I wait so long??
I used the die to create a holder for one of our Stampin’ Write markers and gave one to each of my Customer Reward Extravaganza attendees last Saturday.  I ran it through my Big Shot with the Fancy Fan embossing folder and assembled it with a two-way glue pen.  I wrapped  a paper doily (in the Spring catalog) around the pocket and then finished it off with our new 1 1/4″ Two-Tone ribbon.  My sentiment is included in the Pop-Up Posies Designer Kit in the Spring Catalog. I punched it out with the Ticket Duo Builder punch and adhered it with a glue dot.

Spotlight on Tools

It’s time for the next installment of my series, Spotlight on Tools.  I’ve been trying to choose tools that I find most useful when I stamp.  So, this week my focus is on the Color Coach because I use it ALL the time.  I tend to have difficulties knowing which colors go together and that is why the Color Coach is so helpful.  There’s a card for each color that Stampin’ Up! carries and it lists colors that coordinate!  You are shown a creative combination and then either a Sweet Set or Getting Started Combination.  Three colors are listed in each category.  I’ve paired colors together using my Color Coach that I never would have used together had it not been suggested. When new colors are introduced, new cards are always available.  It is an indispensable tool and I keep it close by when I’m crafting!

You can purchase your own Color Coach HERE on my Stampin’ Up! website.

Swallowtail

We made this card on Saturday at my Customer Reward Extravaganza using the Swallowtail stamp.  This is a card that didn’t photograph as well as I would have like as it is much more vibrant in person and the butterfly really stands out.
The base of the card is Crumb Cake cardstock with a piece of paper from the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack.  I used A Round Array stamp set again (as I did in yesterday’s post).   The large rhinestone (in the Spring catalog) really adds a finishing touch!

The inspiration for my card came from Maggie Patterson and Ronda Wade during their Creative Convention Online for Stampin’ Up! demonstrators!
