I have another treat holder and video today using Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper, a brand new paper, available on September 5, 2018, when the Holiday Catalog goes live! Other new products used on my project from the Holiday Catalog are:
- Caudron Bubble stamp set
- Glittered Organdy Ribbon
- Spooky Bats Punch
The treat inside the holder is a Snack Mix and if you watch the video, you’ll be able to see exactly what I used. I started with two pieces of Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper that measured 8-1/2″ x 3″ and scored the bottom of each piece at 7-3/4″. This makes a little flap so you can connect the two pieces of paper that make the front and back of the treat holder.
The Snack Mix has a hole at the top of the package for display purposes at the grocery store and in the video I show how I made two holes in the Designer Series paper so that you can run the Glittered Organdy Ribbon through all three. I used a pencil to draw a hole on the backside of the holder but this step is completely unnecessary as you can just use the hole in the packaging as your guide. When I originally designed the holder, I didn’t staple the Snack Bag to the back of the paper so I needed the pencil mark but at the last minute I decided to staple it to the paper for extra sturdiness. You will need to mark the front hole though so they’ll match up.
I used three punches ( I love punches) for the sentiment. After stamping “Happy Halloween” in Gorgeous Grape ink using the stamp set Cauldron Bubble, I cut it out with a 2″ Circle Punch. I used the Starburst Punch and Gorgeous Grape cardstock for the layer behind the sentiment. To create the bat, I used the Spooky Bats Punch with Basic Black cardstock and glued it on with Multi-purpose Glue.
