Today’s card is a fun fold using Boughs of Holly 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper and a new stamp set, Framed & Festive (#160888), that will debut on November 1, 2022. This stamp set will be available while supplies last. To see the flyer that includes this stamp set and the other products that will also be available November 1st, click HERE.
I started with a piece of Thick Basic White cardstock and scored it in two places to make the card look like a book (you can find the measurements I used below the Supply List). Between the two folds I used Tear & Tape which is a very strong adhesive and you can see where I placed it in the picture below.
After creating the fold, I cut two pieces of Boughs of Holly Designer Series Paper and adhered them to the front of the card. I wrapped a piece of Metallic Mesh Ribbon around the left side of the card and tied a knot. If you haven’t seen this ribbon in person, it’s gorgeous!!
I heat embossed the sentiment onto Basic White cardstock using Silver Embossing Powder and a Versamark pad. If you’ve never heat embossed before, I have directions below. I find that heat embossing a sentiment makes the card extra fancy.
I cut the sentiment out using the Layering Circles Dies. Using the Stylish Shapes Dies, I cut a larger circle out of Silver Foil. I adhered the two pieces together, added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back and placed it on the front of the card.
To complete the card, I added a piece of Basic White cardstock to the inside.
How to Heat Emboss
Prepare your cardstock by rubbing the Embossing Buddy (an anti-static pouch that can be found in the Embossing Additions Tool Kit) over the surface of the paper as it helps keep away stray particles of embossing powder. Stamp your sentiment or image using a Versamark pad. This is very sticky ink and your embossing powder will stick right to it. Sprinkle embossing powder over the stamped image and then shake off any excess. Before applying heat to your paper, heat the Heat Tool first so your paper won’t warp (about 10 seconds). Direct the heat over your image and watch as your image becomes shiny and beautiful!
