Using the Square Pillow Box Thinlits Dies makes this a very quick project to put together. I placed a window sheet across the opening of the box because isn’t it fun to get a glimpse of what’s inside? The “window” is included in the die set! I placed a glue dot on each corner of the window sheet which will keep it firmly in place. I used the stamp set Cheer All Year to stamp my bat which I then fussy cut as we don’t have a punch or thinlit for him (I wish we did). Using a purple Sharpie, I colored two rhinestones for his eyes.

I LOVE the new Square Pillow Box Thinlits Dies in the Holiday Catalog. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that this will be a product that carries over into the Annual Catalog. It is so easy to make this pillow box and it’s very roomy inside.
I didn’t decorate the front too much as I feel the paper is the star of the show (English Garden Designer Series Paper). It is a little hard to tell in the pictures above but when they are side by side you can see that they look a little bit different in size. The ribbon on the blue one doesn’t hold the box shut, you can open the ends and leave the ribbon on. The ribbon goes around the ends on the pink one and would need to be removed to open the box. I might do this if I was worried that the box might open.
Stay tuned in the next few days and I’ll have a video showing you how I created my pillow box. Here’s a PDF that includes a picture of the project and all of the supplies needed for both boxes that you can print or save for future reference: Happy Birthday Pillow Box Card Recipe

I made a card very similar to this one the other day. My card today is all about a beautiful shade of green – Wild Wasabi! I paired it up with a sheet of paper from the Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper pack. This card was given to a customer who placed an order this month!
My sentiment comes from the set And Many More. If you are looking for a versatile stamp set, this is it!

Tip: When making this card, make several at a time. When you cut out your butterfly, you will use that same piece you cut it out of, for the front of the card. Your butterflies and card fronts will be ready when you are to create a card.

The other day I saw a pretty card by Mary Fish using the Butterfly Framelits so I decided to try my own version! The paper underneath my butterfly is the Irresistibly Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper which is free with a $50 purchase! This paper comes with a glossy white pattern that is revealed when you apply color to it! I sponged Soft Sky ink over the leafy pattern. (You can watch the video below to see the different ways to color the paper).
Using my Big Shot and Butterfly Thinlit, I cut my butterfly out of Whisper White cardstock. I used that same piece to place over my Irresistibly Yours paper once I sponged color on it. I could have left it plain but I wanted to emboss it. I added Stampin’ Dimensionals down the center of my butterfly to adhere it the open space. It really was a very easy card to make!
