First Fridays Blog Hop – Easter

Welcome to the first ever, First Fridays Blog Hop! Several stampers have come together to host a fun blog hop on the first Friday of each month! We hope our projects will inspire you to create!

Our first, First Fridays Blog Hop theme is Easter.  At the end of my post, you find a list of all the stampers in the hop and I hope you’ll visit each one! My project for the hop is a matchbook!  You can add a yummy treat inside, a gift card or both!

You’ll start with a piece of cardstock that measure 4-1/4″ x 11″.  Score it @ 1-1/2″, 6-1/2″ and 7″.    Fold on all the score lines and you’ll have your matchbook! You’ll want to add a staple to the bottom flap and place it towards the bottom so your top flap can tuck in.  (PLEASE NOTE:  Before stapling, add your cellophane bag and then staple.  My picture below does not show the bag).  I used our Gusseted Cellophane Bags that measure 3″ x 6″.

I added two pieces of Whisper White to the front and those measure 3″ x 4″   and   1-1/4″ x 4″.  I used the Basket Bunch Bundle which includes the Basket Bunch stamp set & Basket Builder Framelits Dies to decorate the matchbook (the stamp set and framelits can be purchased separately but as a bundle, you save 10%).  All of the pieces that were used to decorate the front (grass, bunny, eggs), as well as the sentiment, are included in this bundle.

The grass was cut out with Garden Green card stock.  I cut two of them and placed them side by side.  The basket covers up where they come together so it really does look like its one continuous piece.

The basket was stamped with Chocolate Chip ink onto Chocolate Chip card stock and cut out with the framelits  (the handle and basket are separate dies).  I popped it up with our Foam Adhesive strips (I’ll have a list of all the supplies I used at the bottom of the post).  The eggs in the basket and underneath the ribbon were colored with Stampin’ Write Markers (Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise and Real Red).  I colored the bunny with Tempting Turquoise and Pink Pirouette and popped her up with a Stampin’ Dimensional.

I wrapped a piece of Organza Ribbon around the bottom flap and tied it in a bow.  You can find a list of all the supplies I used at the very bottom of the post.

I hope you’ll hop around to all of the stampers.  You can click below to head over to Heather North’s blog and see her cute project!  You can also scroll down and see a list of everyone in the hop!  Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Bunny Box Using the Basket Bunch Bundle

Yesterday I shared a box filled with chocolate and today my project is the same box but I’ve added an opening to the front so the recipient can see the goodies inside!  I used the Basket Bunch stamp set and matching Basket Builder Framelits  Dies.  If you’d like to see the tutorial for making the box, it can be seen HERE in yesterday’s post.

The opening was made using one of the 16 dies in the Layering Circle Framelits.  This set also includes scalloped circles, like the one pictured below.

The next step is to add a piece of clear acetate or film over the opening.  Be sure to add this BEFORE you assemble your box. Hmmm, wonder why I know that!?!  Actually you can still maneuver a piece inside the box once you’ve assembled it but its trickier to do.  You can use one of our Window Sheets for this step or in my case, I didn’t have any on hand but I did have some Clear Medium Envelopes and cut a piece of that.  It worked fine!

My first box above, does have a covering over the opening and the one below doesn’t (I like it better when it is covered).

The sentiment is included in the same stamp set as the bunnies and eggs – Basket Bunch.  The sentiment was stamped onto Whisper White card stock with Memento Ink.  Then I trimmed it to the size I wanted and added the notches at the end.

I love to see YOUR creations so please email me and share your box!

Chocolate Egg Box with Basket Builder Stamp Set

Yesterday I shared a project with a cute little bunny from the stamp set, Basket Bunch.  The eggs decorating my box today also come from that stamp set AND they have matching Framelits which means, no fussy cutting!  The sentiment is also included in the stamp set.

I created this box so that a peanut butter bunny I bought would fit inside (I’ll share that project tomorrow).  This closed box is small but I was able to fit quite a few chocolate eggs inside.

Whenever I make a project such as this one, I create a template and you’ll find one for this box below.  I write all of the dimensions on the back and this makes it so easy to recreate the project again!   I’ve also included a pictorial tutorial below so let’s get started

Step 1:  Cut your paper to 6-1/4″ x 5-3/4″.  Score on the short side:  3/4″, 4-1/4″ and 5″

Score on the long side:  2″, 2-3/4″, 4-3/4″, 5-1/2″

With your paper snips, remove the sections shown below.

Step 2:  Trim the flaps as indicated by the arrows.  This helps your box close more easily.

Your box will look like this once you’ve snipped the flaps just a bit.

Step 3:  Add Designer Series Paper to the front, if desired (I used a piece from the 2016-2018 In Color Designer Series Paper Stack).  You’ll use a piece that measures 1-7/8″ x 3-3/8″.  Glue it to the area below your flap as indicated by the picture.

Step 4:  Refer back to this template to see where to add your adhesive.  Create the side of the box first.  When folding the bottom of the box, the small flaps go in first, then the piece with adhesive.  The piece without adhesive will go last and create the box.

Now, you’ll decorate the front of your box!  I used the stamp set, Basket Bunch for my sentiment and the eggs.  After stamping the sentiment with Memento Ink, I cut it out with the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  The eggs were also stamped with Memento Ink and cut out with the Basket Builder Framelits Dies (purchase the stamp set and Framelits as a bundle and save 10% – see product list below).  I colored the eggs with Pink Pirouette and Pool Party  Stampin’ Write Markers (Subtles Collection).

If you create one of these boxes, I would love to see yours!!  If you have any questions, please ask!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!  I really should have been a better planner and had a green project for today!!

Oh my gosh, aren’t these little bunnies ADORABLE!!  The little guy comes from the stamp set, Basket Bunch AND there are matching Framelits.  I love it when I don’t have to fussy cut little pieces.  You can purchase the stamp set and Framelits separately but when you get them as a bundle, you save 10%!

When I saw these teeny tiny gold bunnies at Target, I knew I had to make something with them.  One fits perfectly inside the holder (see the picture below).
