Butterfly Basics Flowery Wishes

For the past several days I’ve shared several ideas using the stamp set Butterfly Basics.  It’s a great set with so many possibilities and it comes in either wood mount, clear or photopolymer.

To create my card, I first stamped it with Memento Ink onto Whisper White cardstock and then used my Copic markers to color it, which are a non Stampin’ Up! product.  The base of the card is Whisper White.  I embossed a piece of Whisper White cardstock using the Petal Burst embossing folder and layered it on top of a piece of Real Red cardstock..  The sentiment, also included in the Butterfly Basics stamp set, was stamped in Memento Ink and cut out with the Layering Ovals Framelits using the Big Shot.

Card Dimensions – Below you’l find the dimensions for my card.  I love seeing your creations so if you make this card, please email me!  You’d make my day!

Butterflies Thinlits Thank You Card

I hope your week has started off well!  Today I am sharing cards I made over the weekend to send out to customers who placed orders in the last few days.

I don’t like sharing product that you can’t purchase so while I would normally add some pearls or rhinestones to my card, I didn’t as they’ve sold out.

The paper I used to cut out the butterflies, Floral Boutique, is on the retired list but as of right now, it’s available and not showing up as being low inventory.  I used the Petal Burst embossing folder for the Whisper White layer.  You could definitely make the card without the embossing but I think it adds a nice touch.

Tip:  I used glue dots down the center of the butterfly. You could also use Stampin’ Dimensionals.

You’ll find a list of all the products I used to make this card below as well as the measurements for the layers.

Measurements for Layers

Thick Whisper White:  8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″  scored at 4-1/4″

Night of Navy cardstock:  4″ x 5-1/4″

Whisper White:  3-3/4″ x 5″

Birthday Card Using Bunch of Blossoms by Stampin’ Up!

happy-birthday-blossom

Happy Sunday! I hope you’re having a relaxing weekend!

Yesterday I posted a video from Stampin’ Up! but for those of you who receive notification of my blog posts via email, the video didn’t show up in the email.  I have no idea why this happens but I’ll try to remember to let you know next time to click the title of the post so that you can see the post in its entirety.

Today I want to share a card I made for a friend of mine for her birthday using the stamp set Bunch of Blossoms.  This is a Two-Step Stamp set which allows you to combine individual stamps to build the final image you want, in the colors you want. In this stamp set you get a whopping 26 pieces!  I’ve pointed out below which ones I used to create my card.

Bunch of Blossoms Stamp Set #141573

This was the first time I’d used this stamp set and I did a lot of experimenting to get the look I wanted.  For the petals, I used one color but when I used the stamp on the right (the one with more coverage), I stamped onto my ink pad and then stamped off on my grid paper before stamping onto my Whisper White piece.   The other stamp was used full strength.  I did the same thing with the leaves.  I recommend trying it out and seeing what you like!

I added Wink of Stella to the petals and leaves which gave it a pretty shimmery look!  I embossed a piece of Whisper White with the Petal Burst embossing folder.  My sentiment is from the stamp set Birthday Banners.

Stylized Embossed Birthday Card

I love this new stamp in the Annual Catalog called Stylized Birthday.  It’s a single stamp and is wood mounted.

I made this card when I was visiting my mom last month.  I usually go for an extended stay and I love that I can set up a temporary craft area when I’m there.  I brought supplies to make holiday cards but I needed to make a birthday card for a good friend and decided to work on birthday cards instead.  We can always use lots of birthday cards, right?

I’ve been trying to challenge myself to create cards that would be considered clean and simple and I have three different versions of the same card.  The one above has ribbon attached.  The one below is the same card but I added a few rhinestones.  I almost added more but I was having a hard time knowing if I was adding too much!  My friend Karen would say that you can never have too much sparkle!

The card below is made with Mint Macaron and is without rhinestones and without ribbon.  I used the Petal Burst embossing folder for all three cards but I think it’s most prominent in the photo below.  I really felt that it was way too plain but not everyone likes bling or ribbon.

On each of the cards, I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder.
