Today’s card was made using the Whitewash Technique which adds a soft look to an image and my video below shows how very easy this technique is.  I used the stamp set Blended Seasons which is only available until August 31, 2018 or while supplies last!

First, I prepared my Crumb Cake cardstock by heat embossing it with Versamark Ink and white embossing powder. The White Embossing Powder (#109132) is currently on the low inventory list so if  you need some, order it as soon as you can before it goes on backorder.

I don’t show you how I heat embossed the flowers in the video but embossing is really easy.  Prepare your paper first by brushing over it with the Embossing Buddy. Using this will prevent stray pieces of embossing powder from sticking to your paper.  Stamp your image using Versamark ink and then pour embossing powder over the stamped image.  Shake off all of the excess powder.  I like to use a fine tip paintbrush to brush away any stray pieces of embossing powder.  Then use the Heat Tool over the image and it will melt the embossing powder.  It’s like magic and always fun to do! I’m a little hesitant to direct you to this video because it’s one I’d like to do over, but it does show you the process of heat embossing if you’d like to see rather than read how it’s done.

After embossing, you’ll add a drop of  Whisper White craft ink onto a clear block.  Using an Aqua Painter, add water and mix the two together.  Then start painting your image! The picture below shows what your image will look like after completing this step. Pull out your Watercolor Pencils, I used Assortment 2 (available only until the end of this month or while supplies last) and start coloring.  The last step is to take your Blender Pen and “color” over the colored pencil for a soft, blended look.

Here’s my video on the Whitewash Technique!
