Today I’m sharing an Accordion card featuring the Springtime Impressions Thinlits Dies and Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper. If you missed my post yesterday, I shared another version of this card and a video that will show you how to create this type of card.  You can see that post here

Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper has animal prints on one side and a colorful design on the other. I love the birds that I used for the front of my card AND I also really like the design on the opposite side.

The butterfly on my card was made using Berry Burst cardstock and the Springtime Impressions Thinlits.  Since this is an intricate die, I used this “sandwich” to run it through the Big Shot (from bottom to top):

Each Big Shot is calibrated differently, so it’s possible that you can run the butterfly through your Big Shot using just the Big Shot Platform (which includes the Thin Die Adapter) and your cutting pads or if you have an older Big Shot, the Multi-purpose Platform and your cutting pads. You’ll have to experiment with your machine.

Once I ran the butterfly through the Big Shot, I used the Big Shot Die Brush over the die so that all the pieces would fall out.  Any extra pieces were poked out with a Paper Piercing Tool (this little tool is used daily in my craft room – it’s not just for piercing paper).

I stamped my sentiment onto Whisper White cardstock in Shaded Spruce ink and then cut it out with the Stitched Shapes Framelits. A scalloped oval was cut out using Berry Burst cardstock using the Layering Ovals Framelits and the two were layered together using Snail adhesive (with Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back).  These two sets of dies are a staple in my craft room!  The sentiment is from the brand new stamp set, Another Wonderful Year.  I used “Just a Friendly hello” but as you can see from my card, I only used “hello”.  To achieve this, I added some post it tape (it comes on a roll) and covered up some of the words next to it.  I inked up just hello, removed the tape and stamped it onto my Whisper White cardstock.  It’s a great way to get more mileage out of your stamps!

If you’d like to create today’s card, I’ve listed all of the Stampin’ Up! products I used below.  For easy shopping, simply click an image and you’ll be directed to my Stampin’ Up! online store.  If you have any questions, please contact me!  Have a great day!
