I made a card very similar to this one the other day. My card today is all about a beautiful shade of green – Wild Wasabi! I paired it up with a sheet of paper from the Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper pack. This card was given to a customer who placed an order this month!

Tip: When making this card, make several at a time. When you cut out your butterfly, you will use that same piece you cut it out of, for the front of the card. Your butterflies and card fronts will be ready when you are to create a card.

As I was walking through the grocery store the other day, I saw a new product, Ghirardelli Milk Chocolate Eggs. I quickly knew I had to make a project with them! I am from the San Francisco Bay Area where they make Ghirardelli chocolate so I have an immense fondness for their candy. I’m a an expert on chocolate and it is delicious! 🙂
I thought that Daffodil Delight would look nice next to the blue foil eggs so I used the Brights Designer Series Paper Pack which includes Daffodil Delight. Here are the box dimensions that I came up with:
Bottom of the box: 5″ x 7″ Score each side at 1-1/2″
Top of the box: 4-1/8″ x 6- 1/8″ Score each side at 1″
Once your paper has been scored, there’s some cutting and trimming to be done. It is hard to see the score lines in my picture below, but I have cut on a score line, up to a score line. If you are making this while reading, you will understand what I mean. Then cut about half of each tab off (it does not need to be exact) and cut a very small notch. These two steps will help as you assemble the box.
I decided to add a window to the top of my box, so I used the smallest oval in the Oval Framelits and then covered it with a small piece of a Window Sheet. I used glue dots to attach it to the box.
The next step is to add Sticky Strip to each of the places I’ve shown. Be sure it is right next to the score line. If you have Fast Fuse, that will work too!
The last step is to peel the Sticky Strip off and assemble your box. I finished it off by adding a cute little chick from the set For Peeps’ Sake. I masked off the chicks legs as I stamped him in Daffodil Delight. I took the tape off and colored his legs with a Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Write marker, huffed on the stamp to reactivate the Daffodil Delight and stamped him onto Whisper White cardstock. My sentiment comes from the set From the Garden which I just stamped across the chick with Memento Ink. I colored his eyes and beak with Stampin’ Write markers. Not all of the Stampin’ Write Markers can be purchased individually, but the Basic Black and Pumpkin Pie are available this way.
As I mentioned, I used Designer Series Paper. The eggs are a bit heavy so I added a 2″ x 4″ piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock to place at the bottom of the box for a little more stability. Next time, I think I would make the bottom of the box using cardstock and DSP for the top.
This really is a pretty easy box to make. Give it a try and you’ll see what I mean!

I had so many nice comments last week when I showed my Dahlia card during the Glitter Queens blog hop that I decided to make one more. They are actually quite addictive so I can guarantee that you’ll see more in the near future.
I used another sheet from the Painted Blooms DSP pack. One of the things that I love about Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper is that you’ll always know what colors coordinate with it. In the catalog, below the description, it lists all the color that will work beautifully. The colors can also be found on the back of the paper pack. I use this as a reference, all the time. In this particular pack it states that Daffodil Delight is one of the coordinating colors. I did try that for my card base but I wasn’t happy with it so instead opted to use Crushed Curry. I think both colors would work just fine though.
My cute sentiment cannot be purchased as it came in my Paper Pumpkin kit this month. I love getting new sentiments in my kit each month!

The other day I saw a pretty card by Mary Fish using the Butterfly Framelits so I decided to try my own version! The paper underneath my butterfly is the Irresistibly Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper which is free with a $50 purchase! This paper comes with a glossy white pattern that is revealed when you apply color to it! I sponged Soft Sky ink over the leafy pattern. (You can watch the video below to see the different ways to color the paper).
Using my Big Shot and Butterfly Thinlit, I cut my butterfly out of Whisper White cardstock. I used that same piece to place over my Irresistibly Yours paper once I sponged color on it. I could have left it plain but I wanted to emboss it. I added Stampin’ Dimensionals down the center of my butterfly to adhere it the open space. It really was a very easy card to make!

Welcome back to Day 2 of the Glitter Queens Blog Hop! We are so glad you are joining us!
Today I have a card using the Dahlia Fold Technique. When I love paper, such as the sheets in the Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper Pack, I am always itching to make flowers with the Dahlia Fold.
Here’s a picture tutorial showing you how to assemble the flower. Once you make each fold, use your bone folder. It will be much easier to put your flower together if you have nice creases.
Step 1: Punch eight circles of DSP using your 1-3/4″ Circle punch and one circle of cardstock with the 2-1/2 inch punch for the base (use a color that matches your paper). You can use smaller circles but for me, if they are any smaller, I have difficulties folding.
Step 2: Fold each DSP circle into fourths. I am using cardstock so you can see this step easier but this would be the printed paper you are using.
Step 3: I drew lines on the paper so you can see exactly how I folded the paper.
Step 4: Turn your paper OVER and bring the entire piece to your center line. It may be hard to understand this but once you are actually doing it, it will be clear.
Step 5: Do the same thing to the opposite side. This is what it will look like when finished. You’ve just made your first petal! Do the same thing 7 more times. When you assemble your flower, all of the pieces will be glued right next to each other.
Step 6: Once you have all of your pieces made, mark the center on your 2-1/2 inch circle with a pencil (I folded my paper into fourths so I could easily see where the center was). I used Tombow multipurpose liquid glue on my circle. I like the option of being able to move my petals around to exactly the right spot which you can do with this glue as opposed to Snail or Sticky Strip. Put each petal point on the pencil mark you made in the center and butt each petal right up to the next one.
To finish the flower off, I used glue dots to adhere a Pacific Point button in the middle of my flower. Then, using glue dots again, I attached one of the Something Borrowed Embellishments (found in the Occasions Catalog) to the button. I used both the button and embellishment because I felt that it needed a pop of color in the middle. My sentiment comes from the set Cheerful Critters, which is also in the Occasions catalog. You’ll find a list of all the products I used at the end of the post.

Have you ever wished for an embossing folder that just doesn’t exist? You can create the look of an embossed background with the Faux Embossing Technique!
To make my card I used our Transfer Adhesive Sheets which have a protective coating over very sticky, strong adhesive. Before running it through the Big Shot, I peeled the paper off of the Transfer Sheet and placed the sticky transfer sheet onto my Whisper White cardstock. You’ll run it through the Big Shot using this “sandwich”:
1. Magnetic Platform
2. Cutting Plate
3. Adhesive Sheet/Whisper White cardstock with cardstock facing up
4. A piece of waxed paper (this helps to remove the Thinlet)
5. “Hello” Thinlit
6. Cutting Plate
The word Hello easily peels off of the transfer sheet with a nice layer of adhesive on the back. Another option would be to cut out the word using your Whisper White cardstock and then adding your own adhesive such as Tombow or the 2-way Glue pen. For me, the adhesive sheet made it so easy to place the words down on my paper!
I started in the middle of my cardstock with the first hello. I cut off the pieces that hung over the paper and was able to place some of the scraps onto my finished piece so don’t throw away those pieces until you are completely finished! When you’re done, it looks as though you used an embossing folder!
I punched a few flowers using the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, sponged Coastal Cabana ink around the edges, added a candy dot and adhered them around my words!

I hope you had an enjoyable Valentine’s Day! My husband and I went out to dinner earlier in the week to celebrate because we both hate the crowds. We had a nice day yesterday babysitting our granddaughter, Audrey. We were with her all day and then her daddy picked her up and took her out to dinner (our daughter, Erin, had to work). We took a picture of the two of them as they headed out to eat.
Wondering what Audrey has around her neck? She is obsessed with wearing her rabbit ears. She also has black cat ears and she wears both at the same time, usually. She goes to bed wearing them. When she sleeps at our house, I go back in later and take them off. In the morning she finds them in the crib and puts them right back on. So sweet.

Several days ago I shared two cards that I made after cutting a piece of Painted Blooms DSP into six pieces. You can see that post here. Today I have another card from that same piece of paper. This time there’s quite a bit more white space so I added a butterfly along with the sentiment. I stamped the butterfly from the set Butterfly Basics in Blackberry Bliss. It is a bit hard to see on the card but it has a lacy look to it. I cut another butterfly out of vellum with the Butterfly Thinlits and adhered it with glue dots. The pearls I added hide the glue dots.
