The other day while at the grocery store, I saw my favorite candy bar! Why the excitement? It’s because I don’t see it very often. I used to purchase them at the only store in town that carried them and then all of a sudden they were no longer on the shelves. When I saw ten of them at the grocery store, yes, I grabbed all ten of them! Who knows if they will be restocked so I did what I needed to do and into my cart they went! Ever since I can remember, this was also my dad’s favorite so it really makes me think of him and smile.

On to my project! For the last several days I’ve been playing around with my Envelope Punch Board and thought it would be fun to make a box (did you know that this punch board isn’t just for making envelopes???) that fit the candy bar perfectly.
It took a little playing around with it, but here’s what I came up with!

Once the box was made, I did have to make a few adjustments so that the box would close. You can see the two ends that would normally be pointed but I cut off just enough so that the box would shut. I used the Stacked with Love DSP pack to make a belly band around the box. Each of the sheets in the pack are 4 1/2″ wide but I cut my down to 3 inches. After wrapping the paper around the box I tied it up with our beautiful organza ribbon. I used some sparkly silver glimmer paper to attach my sentiment to and using white Baker’s Twine, I wrapped it around the ribbon.
Nothing says you care like giving someone their favorite candy bar wrapped up in a pretty little box!

Thanks so much to everyone who left a comment telling me what your favorite crafting tool is! I thoroughly enjoyed reading all of your answers. The winner of the embossing folder and rhinestones goes to Pam Lockard. She said, “Die cuts and my big shot make things so much easier.” I couldn’t agree more! Congrats Pam!
I hope to be back tomorrow. I’ve been making invitations for my sister’s upcoming wedding and I just finished them. I hope to get into my craft room later today to do some more creating!
Have a great day!

I had so much fun making the card from yesterday that I decided to try another one. This time I used Strawberry Slush and Blushing Bride and made a mask for the sentiment with my Oval Framelits. I finished it off with several pearls! If you give this a try, I ‘d love to see what you’ve created!

Here’s the card that I mentioned yesterday that uses the stamp set Sheltering Tree in a completely different way! Using my Big Shot (you could also use a circle punch), I cut a circle from a Post It Note so that my sentiment would fit under it. After stamping my sentiment with Memento Ink, I placed the circle over it and then began using the foliage stamp all over my Whisper White cardstock. Sometimes I used my Wild Wasabi and Pacific Point ink full strength and other times, I stamped off first. When I finished, I peeled off my Post It Note, added a few rhinestones and the card was done!

Sheltering Tree #137163
$24.95
I want to thank fellow demo, Brian King, for this clever way to use this set.

I was finally able to play with the stamp set Sheltering Tree and I’m very happy with how my card turned out. Every time I look at it on my desk, it makes me smile. I think it’s all of the pretty colors – I am definitely ready for Spring!
Tip: When you are using a photopolymer set that has many little pieces such as this set has, once you take the stamp off of your acrylic block, put it back IN THE CASE! I lost the swing and I was just sick when I realized it. I searched everywhere, even the garbage cans in my stamp room. It is a very small piece so I knew the likelihood of finding it was very small. I happened to mention this while with a group of demos and one of them said that she had two sets and that I could have the swing out of one of hers! Wasn’t that nice?? Doesn’t the kindness of others just make your day?
Stop by tomorrow and I’ll have a card using this stamp set but in a completely different way!
