Soda Pop Tops

I showed this card in my embossing folders video (you can see it here) but I realized that I never showed the card in a post.  The center of my flower was made using a flattened Soda Pop Top (#129388  $3.95 for 8 of each size) in the Spring Catalog!   I simply placed one in my Big Shot and it quickly and beautifully flattened it!  It gives my card  such a pretty sparkle.  I really wasn’t drawn to these when I first saw them but I just love them now! Isn’t that the way it always is?

My paper, Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Pack,  is also from the Spring Catalog.  My flower and the strip of paper under the DSP is Raspberry Ripple, one of our In Colors.

Spotlight on Tools #4 Clear Mount Stamp Cases

Welcome to the fourth installment of my series, “Spotlight on Tools.” This week I am focusing on Stampin’ Up! Clear Mount Stamp Cases (#119105  $5.95 for a package of 4).  These are great for storing stamps that you’ve converted from wood to clear.  I also store my single stamps from the recent promotions in these as well since they do not come in a case.

The Stamp Cases are also perfect for storing Framelits. I used a different designer series paper for each one and slipped it between the “cover” and the actual case.  Because the case is clear, I can see the other side of the paper on the inside.  I bought some magnet sheets from a home improvement store (they are covers for heater registers), cut them down to the size I wanted and placed the magnet on one side of the case using Sticky Strip.  In the last picture you can see that I put the packaging on the left hand side but I only included that with a few of my sets.  I have an electronic label maker and put a label on the end of the case so that I can quickly see the set names.  I am so much happier with this system and it has definitely saved time!

If you’ve struggled with a way to organize your Framelits, I hope this will work for you!!

Scallop Envelope Easter Basket

Today I have a basket that could be used for any occasion.  My Easter basket was made using the Bigz Scallop Envelope die.  Yes, the die is meant to be used as an envelope but when you attach four of them together, you get this cute little basket!!  You can see the actual die below.  I cut out four of them and then trimmed off one of the flaps.  Then I laid them side by side and attached them together with Sticky Strip!  So easy! I also used Sticky Strip on each of the scalloped flaps.  I couldn’t decide whether to leave them up or adhere them but ended up with them flat.

If you have this die, why don’t you pull it out and give it a try?  Or, you can purchase one at my online store by simply clicking HERE.

For the Birds

Happy Monday!  I hope you had a nice weekend!

Last week I shared several cards that I made using my colored pencils and blender pen.  Here’s one more but I used the stamp set, For the Birds.  I sent this card off to one of my former students, who is now a third grader, to just say hi.  I hope he likes it!

As you can see, I didn’t use the sentiment that came with it.  I used my Kraft Scissors and cut that part off of my stamp.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Tomorrow is the last day to receive free items for every $50 that you purchase in Stampin’ Up! products!!!! My card today uses the set Patterned Occasions, one of the free sets that you can choose from!!

Are you wondering how I was able to make my leaves a different color than the rest of the stamped image?  It was very easy.  First,  I stamped the entire image in Rich Razzleberry.  Then I used my blender pen and removed the Rich Razzleberry from the leaves.  Once it was completely off, I used my marker and colored my leaves with Old Olive!  So simple!!

If you would like to place an order from my Online Store, just click HERE!!  Sale-a-bration ends tomorrow!!!!

Spotlight on Tools #3

The tool I’m spotlighting today is Grid Paper (#102787)  $9.95)! I always use a sheet of it to protect my work surface when I’m making my cards.  Each piece is 11″ x 17″ which is a nice big size.  You receive 100 sheets so it will definitely last a long time!!  What you can’t see in the photo above is that there’s a great ruler at the bottom.  I also use the lines to help me line up titles..  The bottom picture shows you common dimensions of cards and has an area where you can write down supplies that you are running low on.  I don’t know about you, but if I don’t write it down immediately, it’s GONE (until the next time when I need it)! I also use my paper to try out a stamp before I actually ink it up on my card.  I’d be lost without my grid paper!

Thank you for stopping by!  You can visit my online store and purchase your own Grid Paper!  Add a few more supplies and you’ll be able to choose a free product  during Sale-a-bration which ends on Thursday!!!

Easy Events Thank You

Today my card uses the Stampin’ Up! set, Easy Events.  I don’t use this set often and I am not sure why!  It is so cute.  I made several cards with it the other day and I will show them all this week.  I was over at Maggie Patterson’s blog and she used this color combination.  I immediately knew I wanted to try it (Melon Mambo, Pretty in Pink, Marina Mist)!  I stamped my image with StazOn so that the ink wouldn’t smear.  Then I used my colored pencils and a blender pen.  It was very relaxing to sit and color!  My Melon Mambo Striped Organdy ribbon is from the Spring Catalog.  It is also available in Old Olive and Marina Mist.  Such pretty Spring colors!

Have a great day!

Shop my Stampin’ Up! online store 24/7.  Sale-a-bration ends on Friday!!  Don’t miss out!

Recover Rapidly

I love this set, Patterned Occasions!  I wasn’t quite sure at first how I wanted to use this particular stamp but I am happy with how it turned out.  I used Crumb Cake ink for the bandaid and it is just the right shade of brown. The heart was punched out using the Small Heart punch with Red Glimmer paper.  As I am sitting here typing this post,  I’m realizing that I didn’t put small holes around the red oval.  I will add that touch next time!

This is such a cute set but is only available until March 22nd which is next Friday!  Time is running out!  How can you get one?  Place a $50 order at my online store.  You will then be prompted to enter the item number for your freebie!  You can choose an item for EACH $50 worth of product that you order.  You can click on each page of the flyer to see it larger.  If you have any questions, let me know!
