Spotlight on Tools #2

Have you ever been in the situation where you have almost finished a card and you then you notice that there is a a sticky dirty-looking piece of adhesive on it???  You may have thought that you card was ruined but this somewhat overlooked tool is the answer!!  It is called an Adhesive Remover (#103684  $3.50).  It works just like an eraser and you can erase the unwanted mark on your card.  It has saved many of my cards!! It works best with Snail Adhesive, not a tape, such as Sticky Strip.  If the surface of the remover becomes gummy, simply slice off the top layer!  This is definitely a crafting tool that you will want to have in your crafting toolbox.

You can find the Adhesive Remover on page 177 in the Annual Stampin’ Up! catalog, in the lower right hand corner.

Thanks for stopping by!!  You can order directly from my online store by clicking here!  Sale-a-bration ends in TEN DAYS!! Place your $50 order and receive free product.  Contact me today for more information!

Embossing Folders

Happy Monday!  I hope you had an enjoyable weekend and that you were able to adjust to the time change with Daylight Savings Time in effect.  It is always difficult the first day, isn’t it?  I did enjoy the fact that it didn’t get dark until later in the evening!

I spent my Sunday working on a video for today.  I have a new computer AND a new editing program so it took some time trying to learn it.  Thank goodness for YouTube videos as I saw some there that helped me out!! I tend to be a perfectionist but realized if I waited for this video to be perfect, I would never post it!!!  So, here it is!

Last week I spotlighted the Big Shot so I wanted to make a video showing how to use the embossing folders.  I LOVE my embossing folders and use them on 95% of my cards.

Have a great day!

Everybunny Treat Holder

We made this cute little treat holder at my Stamp Clubs this month. I used a half sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock  (4 1/2 x 11).  I scored it at 1 1/2 and 6 1/2 inches.  Before embossing the front, I used one of the ovals from the Ovals Collection Framelits to cut out the front.  I stamped the front of the cello bag with StazOn Opaque (white).  It dries pretty quickly and adds such a nice finishing touch to the project.  I attached small velcro dots, which I bought at a local hardware store, to the 2 3/8 Scallop Oval. Once I shut it, the other half of the Velcro was exactly where I wanted it!  The trick is to put your candy inside FIRST before you attach the velcro.  I did it the other way around the first time and it wouldn’t shut properly.  I hope this inspires you to give it a try!

Spotlight on Tools #1

There are so many tools in the Stampin’ Up! catalog that make papercrafting so much fun!! Each Wednesday, I will choose one to spotlight and for my very first one, I’ve chosen my VERY favorite, the Big Shot!!  It is a die-cutting machine that doesn’t use electricity.  With just a quick turn of the handle, you can do so much!! Here are two very similar cards.

The big difference between them is that I chose to use a Big Shot embossing folder for the one with the sentiment towards the lower half of the card.  I use embossing folders all the time and this one, Perfect Polka Dots, is one that I reach for the most.

You can also cut shapes out with the Big Shot.  I used it to cut out my flowers, leaves, and the Whisper White and Elegant Eggplant shapes using Framelits.  If you look closely, you’ll see that I used the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder again.

I made this project in October using the Cannery Set Framelits to make a cut out shape and the cute little top for it.

Stampin’ Up! continues to come out with new products for the Big Shot. I could spend all day telling you how much I love this machine! The cost of the Big Shot (#113439) is $99.95 but if you were to purchase it now during Sale-a-bration and were to combine it with an embossing folder ($7.95), you would be able to pick out TWO free products from the brochure!

An even better option is to purchase the NO RISK Starter Kit for $99.  Because it is the 25th Anniversary of Stampin’ Up! this year, you can choose $156 worth of products from the Stampin’ Up! catalog for $99!  You would be able to get a Big Shot and other accessories!!!  You would then become a member of the Stampin’ Up! family and be able to purchase Stampin’ Up! products at discounted prices.  I mentioned that the Starter Kit is risk free which it absolutely IS!  You would have three months to reach the minimum purchase of $300.  This means that you can buy products just for yourself, which is what I did in the beginning,  or you can invite your friends to a party!  If you don’t reach the goal of three hundred dollars, no problem.  No one will call and hassle you.  You would simply be dropped.  If this sounds intriguing to you and you have questions, email me!  If you want to take advantage of this right now, you can go right to my SU! website and sign up!  On the top right, you’ll see JOIN THE FUN!  Click that and within a few minutes, you will be able to complete the sign up process.  Be sure to have your catalog nearby so you can choose $156 worth of product for $99!!!!!

Patterned Occasions

The inspiration for my card came from Connie Babbert.  When I saw her card, I instantly fell in love.  I made a few subtle changes with the products I had on hand.  I love the new Honeycomb Embossing folder and it is so striking on this card!  The beautiful paper comes from the Print Poetry paper stack  (#129312) in the Spring Catalog.  There are 48 sheets – 4 each of 12 double-sided designs and each sheet measure 4 1/2 x 6 1/2.  It really is a beautiful pack of paper!
The cute coffee cup comes from a Sale-a-bration set called Patterned Occasions (Wood #12962  or Clear #129624).  It can be yours FREE with a $50 order but only until March 22nd!!!  If you’ve had your eye on this stamp set, be sure to get it before it’s too late!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope your week has started off well!!

Hello, Hello

This is a card that can definitely be put in the category cute and quick since it can be made in no time!!  This image is from  the Single Stamp promotion which you can see below.

I used my Stampin’ Up! markers to ink up the stamp.  Once I was done coloring, I huffed on it to “reactivate” the ink.  I used Rich Razzleberry, Gumball Green and Island Indigo.  I decided to add a little pizzazz to it and used the Occasions Piercing Mat to pierce holes around each of my oval shapes.  It is hard to see them on the Rich Razzleberry but it is noticeable in person.
