I love cards that remind me of handmade quilts which is why this card was so much fun to make. I punched squares with the Sprinkles and Sunshine Designer Series Paper using my Postage Stamp punch. My pinwheel center is a flattened Soda Pop Top (love these). I punched a heart using the Owl Builder punch, placed it in the center and added Crystal Effects to make it nice and shiny! I can’t wait to try using different papers with this pattern! This is another card inspired by Maggie Patterson and Ronda Wade.

This beautiful card was made by a member of my downline, Linda Wheelock. She used the stamp set Horse Frontier which is a set that I don’t own so I’m glad that I can show you such a gorgeous card using it. Linda used a new Designer Series paper from the Spring Catalog called Parker’s Patterns. The Labels Collection Framelits were used to frame the horse and the sentiment on the inside. She also used the Houndstooth Embossing folder. The button is the only product on her card that isn’t Stampin’ Up!

Here’s another project we made last week at my Customer Reward Extravaganza. I made my album with pictures of my sweet granddaughter, Audrey.
The album base is Marina Mist cardstock and I used Polka Dot Parade Designer Series Paper to decorate the front and some of the inside panels. My Big Shot dies were used to make my Rich Razzleberry mats for my pictures: 3 1/2″ Circle Die, Scallop Circle Bigz and Scallop Square Bigz Clear die. A belly band around the album keeps it closed. It is small enough to tuck into your purse and carry it around with you!
Thank you for stopping by!

I’ve had the Petite Pocket Die since it first came out and this is the first time I’ve used it. Why did I wait so long??
I used the die to create a holder for one of our Stampin’ Write markers and gave one to each of my Customer Reward Extravaganza attendees last Saturday. I ran it through my Big Shot with the Fancy Fan embossing folder and assembled it with a two-way glue pen. I wrapped a paper doily (in the Spring catalog) around the pocket and then finished it off with our new 1 1/4″ Two-Tone ribbon. My sentiment is included in the Pop-Up Posies Designer Kit in the Spring Catalog. I punched it out with the Ticket Duo Builder punch and adhered it with a glue dot.

It’s time for the next installment of my series, Spotlight on Tools. I’ve been trying to choose tools that I find most useful when I stamp. So, this week my focus is on the Color Coach because I use it ALL the time. I tend to have difficulties knowing which colors go together and that is why the Color Coach is so helpful. There’s a card for each color that Stampin’ Up! carries and it lists colors that coordinate! You are shown a creative combination and then either a Sweet Set or Getting Started Combination. Three colors are listed in each category. I’ve paired colors together using my Color Coach that I never would have used together had it not been suggested. When new colors are introduced, new cards are always available. It is an indispensable tool and I keep it close by when I’m crafting!
You can purchase your own Color Coach HERE on my Stampin’ Up! website.

We made this card on Saturday at my Customer Reward Extravaganza using the Swallowtail stamp. This is a card that didn’t photograph as well as I would have like as it is much more vibrant in person and the butterfly really stands out.
The base of the card is Crumb Cake cardstock with a piece of paper from the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack. I used A Round Array stamp set again (as I did in yesterday’s post). The large rhinestone (in the Spring catalog) really adds a finishing touch!
The inspiration for my card came from Maggie Patterson and Ronda Wade during their Creative Convention Online for Stampin’ Up! demonstrators!

Today I have two little treat boxes that we made at my Stamp Clubs earlier this month. Last October I posted another one that you can see HERE. They are fun to make and are so versatile because you can stamp something different on each one! My cute sentiment is from the Sneak Peek set “A Round Array.” This is fast becoming one of my favorite sets and is available as a bundle with the 7/8″ punch until May 31st. For more information about this stamp set/bundle, click HERE. The box on the left was stamped with Secret Garden and the one on the right is made using Distressed Dots.

Stampin’ Up! announced today that they will have new wood mount cases when the new catalog goes live on May 31st! I am so excited! I usually purchase clear mount stamps because they take up less space and the cases are easier to store but I love the new cases!! They will also be selling empty cases! Check out the video!! (I think there’s a sneak peek of a new stamp set too!)

Its time for my next installment of Spotlight on Tools! This week it’s Blender Pens (#102845 $9.95). Blender pens combine the flexibility of watercolors with the convenience of markers. It’s easy to achieve a beautiful watercolor effect using blender pens with just about any color source. The tip cleans off with just a stroke or two on scratch paper. One pen is all you need for all of your colors!
I use blender pens whenever I’m coloring in a stamped image. You simply pick up color with it and it helps to soften and blend the color. As you know, our pencils and watercolor crayons are being discontinued but I know that many of you have them already but you can also use reinkers. Here are several ways to use the pens:
1. Directly color your image with the crayons or pencils and then pull the color around.
2. Take your blender pen directly to the crayon.
3. Color on a piece of scratch paper, pick up the color with your pen and then to your stamped image.
4. Put a few drops of reinker in your stamp pad lid and pick up small amounts of the color to your stamped image.
They are a great tool to have in your stamping toolbox!!

This is one of the cards that we made at my Stamp Clubs last week. Because it has a Velcro opening, it is sort of like a mini present and you could easily adhere a gift card on the inside with glue dots. I used the stamp set A Round Array which is a sneak peek item from the new 2013-2014 catalog and is only available in clear mount. If you purchase the stamp set and the 7/8″ Scallop circle punch (Spring Surprise Bundle), you will receive a 15% discount! Be sure to use this number for the discount: #133899.
