Last week I featured the Basic Borders Dies and I couldn’t help but play with them again using Texture Chic Designer Series Paper. I have two cards to share with you.
I started with a piece of Thick Basic White cardstock for the base of my card. Before adhering it to the front of the card, I placed a piece of Petal Pink cardstock (you can find the measurements I used below the Supply List) inside the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder and ran it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. I like using bright colors and Petal Pink isn’t one of my favorites but I have to say I love it with this paper!
I used the Basic Borders Dies to cut a piece of Texture Chic Designer Series Paper and then adhered it to the front of the card. Next, I heat embossed the sentiment onto Basic White cardstock using gold embossing powder (found in a set called Metallics Embossing Powders), Versamark ink and the stamp set, Cup of Tea. If you’ve never heat embossed before (you’ll love it and it’s easy), you can find the directions below. I cut the sentiment out using the Stylish Shapes Dies and then cut another larger stitched circle out of Gold Foil. I adhered the sentiment to the foil circle, added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back and adhered it to the card.
To complete my card, I added three Festive Pearls to the front of the card. These pearls have been on backorder but are now back in stock!
Here’s one more card I made and although you might think it’s the same card, the design of the paper is different.
How to Heat Emboss
Prepare your cardstock by rubbing the Embossing Buddy (an anti-static pouch that can be found in the Embossing Additions Tool Kit) over the surface of the paper as it helps keep away stray particles of embossing powder. Stamp your sentiment or image using a Versamark pad. This is very sticky ink and your embossing powder will stick right to it. Sprinkle embossing powder over the stamped image and then shake off any excess. Before applying heat to your paper, heat the Heat Tool first so your paper won’t warp (about 10 seconds). Direct the heat over your image and watch as your image is transformed (it will be shiny)!

Happy September 1st! This year is flying by, isn’t it? September reminds me of fall weather but here in California we’re having anything but fall temperatures. Yesterday it was 108 degrees and today isn’t going to be much better. Please send some fall weather our way!
I have a card to share with you today but first, to kick off September, Stampin’ Up! has two specials!
For the next four Thursdays, Stampin’ Up! will be introducing new Weekly Deals. This week they are offering embellishments, Designer Series Paper, dies and more but everything is while supplies last!! For the most up to date information CLICK HERE to go to the Weekly Deals page on my Stampin’ Up! online store.
Stampin’ Up! is offering six NEW dies that coordinate with stamp sets from the Annual & Mini Catalogs. You can purchase the bundles and save 10% or you can purchase just the dies if you already own one of the stamp sets. These dies are available while supplies last! Below, I’ve listed the bundles along with the individual stamp sets and dies. If you prefer, you can look at a flyer HERE or see these products on my Stampin’ Up! online store HERE.
I have one more card to share with you using the Basic Borders Dies. Unfortunately the Aspen Tree Dies and the Perched in a Tree Bundle are both currently unavailable but are estimated to be back in stock the week of September 26th. I also used the coordinating stamp set, Perched in a Tree, and that IS available! Normally I don’t share products that aren’t in stock but since this was a free Sale-a-Bration gift, I’m assuming many of you do have it.
I started with a piece of Thick Basic White cardstock and then used one of the Basic Borders Dies to cut off a piece of the front of the card. Then I added a piece of Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper to the inside of the card.
I stamped the sentiment in Memento Ink on the front of the card using the stamp set, Perched in a Tree. Then I used the Aspen Tree Dies to cut three leaves out of Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry and Garden Green cardstock. I arranged them on the front of the card using a combination of Mini Glue Dots and Multipurpose Glue.
To complete my card, I added three Champagne Rhinestones to the front of the card.

Supplies Needed To Create the Card Sampler
Listed below are the supplies you’ll need to complete the cards exactly as shown (or you can use what you already own). Simply click any of the products and you’ll be taken to my Stampin’ Up! online store. When placing your order, don’t forget to use the special Card Sampler Host Code (please do not use host code if your order is over $150 – see above).

Edited to Add: The Cottage Rose stamp set is now unavailable but is expected to be back in stock the week of September 12th.
Onto my last Sale-a-Bration card! I used the Hippest Hippos stamp set and the Hippo Dies to create today’s card. Each of these products can be earned with a $50 purchase but only until the end of today!
Edited to Add: Unfortunately it seems the Hippos Dies have sold out. My link for the dies takes you to the landing page and not the product and that means they are gone. I’m sorry!!!
To create my card, I started with a piece of Thick Basic White cardstock. Then I used the Basic Borders Dies to cut a scalloped edge across the bottom of the front. I adhered a piece of Awash in Beauty Designer Series Paper to the inside so it would peek through.
I stamped the hippo in Memento ink and then colored him with Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends (Light & Dark) and for the flower I used Balmy Blue Blends (Light) and Granny Apple Green (Dark). I cut the hippo out using the Hippo Dies.
I used the Layering Circles Dies to cut the Balmy Blue and Basic White circles. Then I placed the Basic White circle in the Timber 3D Embossing Folder and ran it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. I adhered the two circles together and added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back.
During Sale-a-Bration, the Timber 3D Embossing Folder can either be earned with a $50 order using the product number 163094 or it can be purchased using the product number 156406.
I stamped the sentiment onto Basic White cardstock using Balmy Blue ink and the stamp set, Hippest Hippos. It was cut out using the Stitched Rectangles Dies. I added a little bit of adhesive to the front of the sentiment and slipped it behind the hippo. I added more adhesive to the hippo and adhered it to the circles and then placed it on the front of the card.

Today is Day 2 of showcasing Stampin’ Up! Basic Borders Dies. If you missed yesterday’s card, you can see it here.
Yesterday I found out that the Aspen Tree Dies – a Sale-a-Bration gift with a $100 purchase – are on the Low Inventory list. More stock will be coming in but when, I can’t say. If you’ve had your eye on these dies or the Perched in a Tree Bundle, grab them while you can!
The Aspen Tree Dies can be purchased in three ways:
Please note: The free Sale-a-Bration option has a different product number than if you were to purchase the dies. If you are choosing the free option, be sure to use the Sale-a-Bration product number. Please see the different item numbers above.
I had planned to space my three cards throughout the week but I’m sharing them today just in case they are out of stock soon! This first card was made with Rings of Love Designer Series Paper, a Sale-a-Bration gift with a $50 purchase.
I started with a piece of Thick Basic White cardstock and then used the Basic Borders Dies to cut the bottom into a V-shape. Then I added a piece of Rings of Love Designer Series Paper to the inside. Next, I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy ink using the stamp set, Cottage Wreaths.
I placed a piece of Basic White cardstock inside the Twigs & Sprigs Embossing Folder and ran it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. Then I adhered it to the front of the card.
I used Memento ink to stamp the bird and branch onto Basic White cardstock using the stamp set, Perched in a Tree (this coordinates with the Aspen Tree Dies). Then I colored the bird using these Stampin’ Blends: Night of Navy (Light and Dark), Daffodil Delight (Light and Dark). I used the Dark Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blend for the branch and the bird’s beak and feet. I also used the Stampin’ Blends Color Lifter on the bird’s belly. I then adhered the bird and branch to the front of the card.
For this next card, I didn’t use Designer Series Paper but chose to use embossed paper for both the inside and front of the card. I also made the front embossed piece a little bit longer than on the previous card.
I used all the same products but for this card, I used a Dark Soft Suede Stampin’ Blend for the branch and the bird’s feet and beak.
For this next card, I used another design from Rings of Love Designer Series Paper.
I cut a piece of 4″ x 3- 3/4″ piece of Rings of Love Designer Series Paper and placed one of the Basic Borders Dies from the top right corner to the bottom left corner to create the shape. I started with a piece of Early Espresso cardstock and then added a layer of Crushed Curry cardstock that I ran through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine using the Twigs & Sprigs Embossing Folder. Then I adhered the shape I made with the Basic Borders Dies.
Next, I stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso ink onto Basic White cardstock using the stamp set, Charming Sentiments. I cut it out using the Stylish Shapes Dies (currently out of stock but estimated to be available again the week of September 19th). I cut a larger circle out of Early Espresso and layered the two pieces together. I added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back and adhered it to the front of the card.
I used the Aspen Tree Dies to cut two small leaves out of Crushed Curry & Poppy Parade cardstock and then adhered them above the sentiment. To complete my card, I added three Brushed Metallic Dots.
Supply List
Below you’ll find all the Stampin’ Up! supplies I used for all three cards. If you need any stamping supplies, I’d love to be your demonstrator! You can place an order by clicking any of the images below to go to my Stampin’ Up! online store.

This week I’ll be sharing several cards using the Basic Borders Dies. These dies add an interesting element to any card!
Today’s card was also created using Rings of Love Designer Series Paper. This paper can be earned free with a $50 purchase and it’s only available until Wednesday, August 31st! I LOVE this paper and really wish it wasn’t going away.
I started with a piece of Thick Basic White cardstock and then used the Basic Borders Dies to cut the scalloped border. Then I cut a piece of Rings of Love Designer Series Paper and adhered it to the inside of the card. I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy ink using the the stamp set, Go To Greetings.
Next, I cut a piece of Basic White cardstock and ran it through the Cut & Emboss Machine using the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder. I adhered it to a piece of Night of Navy cardstock and then placed it on the card front. I used the Beautiful Shapes Dies to cut a circle out of Basic White cardstock and then used my Paper Snips to cut a house out of the Rings of Love Designer Series Paper which I then adhered to the Basic White circle. I added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the circle and adhered it to the card.
To complete my card, I used two pieces of Linen Thread to create a bow and placed a Mini Glue Dot in the center before adhering it to the house. You can find all the measurements I used to create today’s card below the Supply List.
