Butterfly Basics Flowery Wishes

For the past several days I’ve shared several ideas using the stamp set Butterfly Basics.  It’s a great set with so many possibilities and it comes in either wood mount, clear or photopolymer.

To create my card, I first stamped it with Memento Ink onto Whisper White cardstock and then used my Copic markers to color it, which are a non Stampin’ Up! product.  The base of the card is Whisper White.  I embossed a piece of Whisper White cardstock using the Petal Burst embossing folder and layered it on top of a piece of Real Red cardstock..  The sentiment, also included in the Butterfly Basics stamp set, was stamped in Memento Ink and cut out with the Layering Ovals Framelits using the Big Shot.

Card Dimensions – Below you’l find the dimensions for my card.  I love seeing your creations so if you make this card, please email me!  You’d make my day!

Butterfly Basics Butterflies

I have another card today using the stamp set Butterfly Basics and it definitely falls into the category of Quick and Easy!  The sentiment is also from this set!

I love the clean look of Bermuda Bay, Pacific Bay and Whisper White!

To complete the card, I added pearls down the center of each butterfly.  In a few weeks, when the new catalog goes live on June 1st, you’ll be able to order pearls again.  The packages have been reconfigured so they went up on the retired list and sold out quickly.

All of the supplies I used to create my card are listed below.  I love seeing your creations so if you try this card out, I’d love to see what you’ve made!

Hello Sunshine Revisited

I posted this card yesterday but haven’t had a chance until now to give you the details about it so thought I would just start a new post.  The flowers come from the set Butterfly Basics in the Occasions catalog. I am happy to say that it will carry over and be in the new catalog.  It has been a very popular stamp set!

Hello Sunshine

I stamped the flower in Memento Ink  onto Whisper White cardstock.  Unfortunately Stampin’ Up! no longer carries colored pencils so I used my Prismacolor set to color in the petals and leaves.  I find it so relaxing to color.  I thought about using my blender pen to soften the colors a bit but I did this while at my mom’s and didn’t have one with me.  My sentiment comes from the set So You, also in the Occasions catalog, but sadly it will not be carrying over.  I wish I had started using this set when it first came out!

I used Blackberry Bliss cardstock, which I felt complimented the purple used for the flowers. I popped up the top layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  All in all, it’s a fairly quick and easy card to make!

Thank you for stopping by today!  As always, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask!

Hello Friend

hello friend vellum

This post was intended for yesterday but by the time I finished writing it, amid countless interruptions, it was early evening!  Ever have one of those days??

Several days ago I shared two cards that I made after cutting a piece of Painted Blooms DSP into six pieces.  You can see that post here.  Today I have another card from that same piece of paper.  This time there’s quite a bit more white space so I added a butterfly along with the sentiment. I stamped the butterfly from the set Butterfly Basics in Blackberry Bliss.  It is a bit hard to see on the card but it has a lacy look to it.  I cut another butterfly out of vellum with the Butterfly Thinlits and adhered it with glue dots.  The pearls I added hide the glue dots.

Sending Wishes Your Way

star vellum

I gave this card to a friend several weeks ago when she was going back to work after a lengthy illness.  I wanted to wish her good luck as she ventured back and let her know that I was thinking of her.

I wish my card had photographed better as it is so sparkly in person but that really isn’t being picked up in the photo.

Here’s how I made the card.  First, I used the Stars Framelits to cut out the star shape on the front of the card.  I cut another star  the next size down out of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper.  I embossed my sentiment with silver embossing powder using Butterfly Basics from the Occasions catalog.  I used a piece of our Silver Fancy Foil Designer Series Vellum and adhered it to the base of my card by running snail adhesive along the silver stripes so that it wouldn’t be seen.  I popped my Whisper White star piece up with Stampin’ Dimensionals as well as my Dazzling Diamonds star.   Quick and easy but oh so pretty!  Thanks to Dawn Griffith for this idea!

You’ll find the products I used to make my card below.  You can visit my online store here!  Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Have a great weekend!
