I started with a piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock for the base of my card. Then, I cut another piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock and started adhering 1″ strips of Oxidized Copper Specialty Designer Series Paper to the front. After I glued a piece down, I’d trim it off. As you can see I glued two pieces down the center, at an angle, and then went perpendicular to those pieces. Once I completed this part, I glued the piece to the card front.
Next, I used the Wanted to Say Dies to cut the Happy Birthday background out of Basic White cardstock and the words Happy Birthday out of Pretty Peacock cardstock. I glued the two pieces together, added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back and adhered it to the front of the card.
On the inside of the card, I stamped the sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink using the Country Birdhouse stamp set and glued a piece of the Oxidized Copper Specialty Paper to the inside. You can find the measurements I used below the Supply List.

Last week I was in Mexico for the Stampin’ Up! Incentive Trip with my husband, Mark. I want to thank all of my customers who placed orders last year and helped to send me on this wonderful and very relaxing trip! This is the third trip I’ve earned but only the first one I could attend. The first one I earned was during Covid and the trip was cancelled and I earned it last year but my mom passed away and I decided not to attend the Norway trip.

I was so sorry to miss the launch of the new catalog but I scheduled some blog posts to go out while I was gone. I’m trying to get caught with everything in my business.
You may not have heard but in February, Close to My Heart announced that they would be ceasing operations. My heart goes out to all the Makers (demonstrators) that lost their company. Stampin’ Up! was able to purchase a limited amount of their products and offered their Makers to join Stampin’ Up! with a special joining offer. You might have seen Close To My Heart products in the online store but the product quantities Stampin’ Up! acquired from Close To My Heart® are extremely limited (and while supplies last). I do miss having pages in the catalog for just Designer Series Paper and Punches so I’ve compiled some resources for you (and me!). You can find them below but first I’d like to share some pictures of my trip.
This first one is just one of the pools in the Xcaret resort.
There are so many colorful birds all around. Whenever we were outside we could hear birds chirping and it was so nice!
We could take our picture when we went across this bridge. I’m afraid of heights so this was a challenge for me but by the end of the trip, I was still hanging on to the “rail” but walking more confidently. Ha, ha! We were headed to the pool.

I started off with a piece of Smoky Slate cardstock for the base of my card. Then, I layered a piece of Country Lace Designer Series Paper with a piece of Basic White cardstock and adhered the layer to the front of the card.
Next, I used the Deckled Circles Dies to cut a circle out of Basic White cardstock and then the next larger size out of Smoky Slate cardstock. I stamped the sentiment in Memento ink at the bottom of the Basic White circle and then adhered the Basic White circle to the Smoky Slate circle.
I stamped the leaves and pot onto a piece of Basic White cardstock using Memento Ink. I colored the leaves using Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends and the pot was colored with Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends.
I used the Country Flowers Dies to cut the leaves and pot out. I adhered the pot above the sentiment and then added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the leaves and adhered them to the pot.
To complete my card I added three Adhesive-Backed Sparkle Gems around the pot of leaves and I adhered a piece of Basic White to the inside of the card.

I stamped the sentiment in Misty Moonlight ink onto Basic White cardstock using the stamp set, Thoughtful Wishes (available May 1st). I cut it out using the Stylish Shapes Dies. I used the same dies to cut a larger circle out of Fresh Freesia cardstock, adhered the sentiment to the front, added one Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back and adhered it to the front of the card.
To complete my card, I added a piece of Basic White cardstock to the inside and also added three Tinsel Gems to the Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper.
