Frosted Floral Dahlia Fold

I find it very hard to resist making cards using the Dahlia Fold technique when I find a paper as beautiful as our Frosted Floral Designer Series Paper. You may remember this card that I shared back in September using another sheet from this package of paper. If you’d like to create the flower, the video below will walk you through it (or you can click here). It may look difficult but it really isn’t!  You’ll need a 1-3/4″ Circle Punch to create 8 circles and a 2″ punch to create a base for the flower. Then you’ll start folding!  (more…)

Floral District Dahlia

My card today is made using the Dahlia fold.  I’ve shown cards on my blog before using this technique and it is one that I really, really like.  It is fun to try it with the different papers that Stampin’ Up! carries.  This one uses the Floral District pack which is currently my very favorite!  Tomorrow I’ll show you a card using another paper in this pack!

Thank you for stopping by!

Glitter Queens Blog Hop Day 5

Thank you for visiting on this final day of the Glitter Queens Blog Hop!  We hope you’ve enjoyed our first blog hop and that we’ve inspired you in some way.  Your comments inspired me all week! I had only planned to have one post all week but your kind words made me want to rush home from work each day and create!  🙂  Thank you!
This week I have incorporated a stamp from It’s a Wrap Holidays into each of my projects and in this card “4 You” is also from that stamp set.  I punched it out with  a 3/4 inch Circle Punch.  It is attached to a 1 inch circle of Soft Suede cardstock.  I put some rhinestones around the edges of it because I felt like it needed a little bling.

My flower is made using our new Spice Cake DSP with a piece of Victoria Crochet Trim behind it. I used the Dahlia Fold technique to make my flower.  I made another one in June that you can see here. I ran my Soft Suede cardstock through the Finial Press embossing folder and used my Snail adhesive to attach it to a piece of Pool Party.

It isn’t too late to enter your name for a chance to win the clear stamp set It’s a Wrap Holidays. You have until tonight at 11:59. All you have to do is leave me a comment.  Be sure to check back tomorrow when I announce the winner!  Good luck to you!

Be sure to continue on and visit all of the Glitter Queens.  In case you have missed someone along the way, links to all of the Glitter Queens can be found in my post on Monday. Have a wonderful day!

Dahlia Fold

My card today uses paper that will be retiring at the end of the month called Lap of Luxury. I used the Dahlia Fold to make my focal point using the 1 3/4 inch circle punch. I am really happy with how it turned out! The sentiment I used is from a retiring set called Great Friend. I love this stamp set and am so sorry to see it go. I will have to find a new favorite in the new catalog which goes live on July 1st! I have used “for you” on so many cards. I stamped it on the 1 3/8 x 5/8 punch which is also retiring. If you would like to place an order you can either click the Order Online button on the left side of my blog or email me using the button on the right. Thank you for stopping by and have a great day!
