Supplies Needed To Create the Card Sampler
Listed below are the supplies you’ll need to complete the cards exactly as shown (or you can use what you already own). Simply click any of the products and you’ll be taken to my Stampin’ Up! online store. When placing your order, don’t forget to use the special Holly Jolly Card Sampler Host Code (please do not use host code if your order is over $150 – see above).
The sentiment on one of the cards is embossed with Silver Embossing Powder. If you would rather not emboss, you can use Smoky Slate Ink (147113) or Memento Ink (132708).
I try to use one stamp set for all three cards but I was unable to do that for this sampler. I used the Holly Jolly Wishes stamp set for two of the cards. For the third card, I needed a small sentiment (holiday) and used the Words of Cheer stamp set.

Today’s card features the So Many Snowflakes Dies. These dies debuted in last year’s holiday catalog and carried over into the Annual Catalog! I also used the stamp set, Heartfelt Wishes and Whimsy & Wonder Designer Series Paper.

I started with a piece of Blushing Bride cardstock. Then I used the So Many Snowflakes Dies to cut a piece of Basic White cardstock. I heat embossed the sentiment using silver embossing powder (see directions for heat embossing below). I adhered a piece of Whimsy & Wonder Designer Series Paper to the back of the Basic White cardstock and then adhered both pieces to the front of the card.

I used the So Many Snowflakes Dies to cut two small snowflakes out of Blushing Bride cardstock. I added small dots of Multipurpose Glue to the back of both before adhering them to the card front. For some sparkle, I added a rhinestone to the center of both snowflakes. To complete the card, I added a piece of Basic White cardstock to the inside of the card.

How to Heat Emboss
Prepare your cardstock by rubbing an anti-static pouch over the surface of the paper as it helps keep away stray particles of embossing powder (Stampin’ Up! no longer carries this product but it’s a must when embossing). Stamp your sentiment or image using a Versamark pad. This is very sticky ink and your embossing powder will stick right to it. Sprinkle embossing powder over the stamped image and then shake off any excess. Before applying heat to your paper, heat the Heat Tool first so the paper won’t warp (about 10 seconds). Direct the heat over your image and watch as your image is transformed!
Supply List

by Tracy | Nov 1, 2021 | Die-Cutting, Embossing Folders, Sympathy Card
I wanted to send my condolences to a friend and made this card for her.

I started with a base of Misty Moonlight cardstock and then added a piece of Basic White cardstock that I embossed using the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder. I used the Inspiring Canopy Dies to make the trees. To make it easier to adhere the trees to the card front, I added one of our Adhesive Sheets to the back before running it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. It was a breeze to place the trees on the card with the adhesive already on the back!

The sentiment was stamped in Misty Moonlight ink onto Basic White cardstock using the Inspired Thoughts stamp set and then cut out with the Stitched Rectangle Dies. I added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back and placed it on the card. The little bird was cut out of Misty Moonlight cardstock using the Beautiful Trees Dies (another set of tree dies in the Annual Catalog). I added a small amount of Multipurpose Glue to the back and placed him in the branches. To complete the card, I added a piece of Basic White cardstock to the inside.

by Tracy | Oct 28, 2021 | Designer Series Paper, Fun Fold Card, Rectangle Stitched Dies
Today’s card is another book binding card that I made for a friend who just celebrated her birthday. She loves pink and I think she’ll like this very pinky card!

I started with a piece of Magenta Madness cardstock (you can find the measurements I used below the Supply List) and scored it in two places. Then I folded the card in half and then folded the other piece back. My post the other day shows where to put the adhesive and what the fold looks like. You can see it HERE.

I adhered two pieces of Expressions in Ink Designer Series Paper to the two panels on the front and I added a piece of Basic White cardstock to the inside of the card. I wrapped a piece of Polished Pink Open Weave Ribbon around the left side of the card and tied a knot.

Using the Stitched Rectangles Dies, I cut a small rectangle for the sentiment. The sentiment was heat embossed onto the rectangle using gold embossing powder (included in the Metallics Embossing Powder set) and the stamp set, Artistically Inked. You can see the directions below for heat embossing. It’s very easy to do and gives your card a wow factor.
I adhered the sentiment to a piece of Magenta Madness cardstock, added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back and adhered it to the front of the card. I didn’t want the pink flower in the middle to be covered up so I placed the sentiment towards the bottom. To complete the card, I added three Wonderful Gems below the sentiment. You might have missed these in the Holiday Catalog. They were in last year’s Mini Catalog and were brought back for this year’s Mini. The clear gems have flecks of gold in them which is just perfect the Expressions in Ink Designer Series Paper because many of the designs also have gold accents.

Bundle Alert (save 10%); The Artistically Inked Bundle includes the stamp set Artistically Inked and the Artistic Dies.

by Tracy | Oct 27, 2021 | Designer Series Paper, Die-Cutting, Embossing Folders
Today’s card is the same card I shared last week but I changed up the paper and stamp set. This card was mailed to a friend who is back home from a stay in the hospital. I hope it cheers her up! If you’d like to see the card I shared the other day, you can see it here.

I started with a base of Pool Party cardstock and then adhered a piece of Basic White cardstock that I embossed using the Bloom Hybrid Embossing Folder. This embossing folder cannot be purchased individually but when you purchase it, you’ll also receive 9 dies.

I used the Scalloped Contours Dies to cut a rectangle out of Basic White cardstock and then cut a piece of Pool Party Designer Series Paper (found in the Subtles 6″ x 6″ Collection) and adhered it to the rectangle. I wrapped a piece of Pool Party 3/8″ Sheer Ribbon (this ribbon is so pretty!!!) around the rectangle and tied a knot. Then I added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back and adhered it to the front of the card.

I used another die from the Scalloped Contours Dies to cut the small scalloped rectangle out of Basic White. I stamped the sentiment in Pool Party ink using the stamp set, Beauty of Friendship and then added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back before placing it on the front of the card. To complete the card, I added another piece of Basic White cardstock to the inside.

You can find all the measurements I used below the Supply List.

by Tracy | Oct 25, 2021 | Card Sampler, Designer Series Paper, Die-Cutting, Fun Fold Card, Heat Embossing, Layering Circles Dies
I always love when a card opens in a different way and my book binding card today is super easy to make!

I started with a piece of Thick Basic White cardstock (you can find the measurements I used below the Supply List) and scored it in two places. Then I folded the card in half and then folded the other piece back (see the picture below).

I put Tear & Tape on the small section (I like using Tear & Tape but any strong adhesive will work). I then folded the piece over towards the right and this creates the book biding look.

I added Whimsy & Wonder Designer Series Paper to the large front panel and the panel on the left. I used our 1-1/2″ Metallic Mesh Ribbon and tied it around the left side. Since I used a heavy duty adhesive, the ribbon is purely decorative. This mesh ribbon is gorgeous with all the silver running through it .You could even use this to wrap presents!

I used the Layering Circles Dies to cut a piece of Basic White cardstock and a larger, scalloped circle out of Silver Foil. On the Basic White cardstock, I embossed the sentiment using the Holly Jolly Wishes stamp set, Versamark ink, Silver Embossing Powder and a Heat Tool. Embossing is so easy to do and I really think it makes a card look so elegant. If you’ve never embossed before, I have directions below. I adhered the sentiment to the Silver Foil and then added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the Silver Foil circle and adhered it to the front of the card.
