Mini Catalog & Sale-a-Bration – Beginning August 3rd!
Today’s card features a sneak peek of a Sale-a-Bration free gift you can earn with a $100 order beginning on August 3rd! There are eight different products you will be able to earn with a $50 purchase and two that you can earn with a $100 purchase and there’s no limit to how many products you can earn!
The sneak peek product I used is the Summer Shadows Dies (I can’t share a picture until these dies go live on August 3rd) and they coordinate with our Shaded Summer stamp setin the Annual Catalog. During this round of Sale-a-Bration, some products will only be available while supplies last. The Summer Shadows Dies are one of three products with a limited supply so once they’re available on August 3rd, you’ll want to grab your set as soon as you can.
I started with a base of Highland Heather cardstock and then added a layer of Basic White cardstock that I placed inside the Macrame 3D Embossing Folder and ran through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (you’ll need to use our Specialty Plate when using our 3D embossing folders). Using the Scalloped Contours Dies I cut a rectangle out of Basic White cardstock and stamped the sentiment in Memento Ink using the Artistically Inked stamp set. I added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back and adhered it to the embossed Basic White cardstock.
On another piece of Basic White cardstock, I stamped the flower image from the Shaded Summer stamp set using Memento Ink. Because I wanted a good solid image, I used my Stamparatus to stamp the image. I die cut the flowers (using the Summer Shadows Dies – available August 3rd) before coloring them because I didn’t want to make a mistake cutting them out after taking the time to color them. Then I colored the image using my Stampin’ Blends: Highland Heather, Granny Apple Green and Daffodil Delight. I added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back and adhered it to the scalloped rectangle.

I started with a piece of Thick Basic White cardstock for the base of my card. I cut pieces of Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper (you can find the measurements I used below) and then adhered them to a piece of Night of Navy cardstock. I then added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back and adhered it to the card base.
Using the Tasteful Labels Dies, I cut a piece of Basic White cardstock for the sentiment. I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy ink using the stamp set Inspired Thoughts. Stampin’ Dimensionals were added to the back before adhering it to the front of the card. To complete the card, two Holiday Rhinestones in Night of Navy were added to both sides of the sentiment.

I started with a piece of Thick Basic White cardstock and then added a layer of Highland Heather cardstock and Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper. Using the Layering Circles Dies, I cut a piece of Basic White cardstock for the sentiment and a scalloped circle using Blackberry Bliss cardstock.
I stamped the sentiment onto the Basic White circle using Blackberry Bliss ink and the stamp set, Biggest Wish. After adhering the sentiment to the Blackberry Bliss scalloped circle, I added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back and placed it in the center of the card. I used the Pansy Dies to cut three Pansies out of Petal Pansy Designer Series Paper.
I adhered the two larger pansies to the Basic White circle using Multipurpose Glue and then adhered the smaller one below them. To complete the card, I added five Elegant Faceted Gems (there are three different kinds in the package and I used the clear ones) to the front of the card. In real life, they are so sparkly!

I started with a base of Fresh Freesia cardstock and then added a layer of Basic White cardstock that I ran through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine using the Stitched Greenery Die. Next, using the Scalloped Contours Dies, I cut a scalloped rectangle out of Basis White cardstock and another, smaller one out of Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper. I adhered the Designer Series Paper to the scalloped rectangle and then wrapped my Open Weave Ribbon in Fresh Freesia around the left side. Stampin’ Dimensionals were added to the back before adhering it to the card front.
As of this morning, the Scalloped Contours Dies are still on backorder (rather than unavailable) and are estimated to be back in stock the week of August 2nd. When an item is in backorder status, you can still add it to your order. The rest of your order will ship without the backordered item but when additional inventory is received, Stampin’ Up! will automatically ship the item to you. If an item is unavailable that means you can not order it until it’s back in stock.
The sentiment piece was also cut out using the Scalloped Contours Dies and then I stamped the sentiment in Fresh Freesia ink using the stamp set Plentiful Plants. I added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back and then added it to the front of the card. To complete the card, I added a piece of Basic White to the inside.

I think I’ve mentioned before that my husband and I have several bird feeders in our backyard. When I saw the Garden Birdhousesstamp set, I knew I had to have it. Cute birds and birdhouses? Yes, please!
I started with a base of Thick Basic White cardstock and then added a layer of Misty Moonlight cardstock and Basic White cardstock (you can find the measurements I used below the Supply List). I layered pieces of Sweet Symmetry Designer Series Paper to pieces of Balmy Blue cardstock and then adhered them to the card front. Sweet Symmetry is one of nine Designer Series Papers on saleuntil August 2nd!
I stamped the branch and birdhouse onto Basic White cardstock using Memento Ink and the Garden Birdhouses stamp set. I colored the birdhouse using Balmy Blue and Misty Moonlight Stampin’ Blends. I used Soft Suede Stampin’ Blends to fill in areas of the branch and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends to color the leaves. At the last minute I decided to add the bird and stamped it with Memento Ink and colored it with Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends.
I layered the birdhouse onto a piece of Balmy Blue cardstock and then added Stampin’ Blends to the back and adhered it to the Balmy Blue/Designer Series Paper panels. The sentiment was stamped in Memento Ink and cut out with the Tasteful Labels Dies (these dies can be used with Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine). On the back, I added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the right-side only and adhered the sentiment below the birdhouse.

When I made today’s card, I actually made two different versions of it. It was one of those cards where I just kept playing around with different elements. It features our Stitched Greenery Die (this fun die embosses your cardstock) and Expressions in Ink Designer Series Paper (this paper is expected to be back in stock the week of August 2nd).
I started with a base of Thick Basic White cardstock and then added a layer of Shaded Spruce and Basic White cardstock. The Basic White cardstock was embossed using the Stitched Greenery Die. Then I added a strip of Expressions in Ink Designer Series Paper (you can find the measurements I used below the Supply List).
Using Basic White cardstock and the Stitched So Sweetly Dies, I cut the shape for the sentiment. I stamped the sentiment using Versamark ink and the stamp set Biggest Wish and then embossed it with gold embossing powder (see the directions below for embossing). Stampin’ Up! used to sell our embossing powders individually but now you can purchase them in groups of three: Metallics (copper, gold, silver) or Basics (black, clear, white). I used the Metallics. I added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the sentiment and adhered it to the Designer Series Paper. To complete the card, I added Holiday Rhinestones.
For this next card, I reversed the colors and added a vellum piece underneath the sentiment using the Painted Labels Dies. I didn’t add Dimensionals to the sentiment as I did for the other card but instead added them to the vellum piece.
How to Heat Emboss
Prepare your cardstock by rubbing an anti-static pouch (Stampin’ Up! no longer carries this product but it’s a must when embossing) over the surface as it helps keep away stray particles of embossing powder. Stamp your sentiment or image using a Versamark pad. This is very sticky ink and your embossing powder will stick right to it. Sprinkle embossing powder over the stamped image. Shake off any excess. Before applying heat to your paper, heat the Heat Tool first so the paper won’t warp (about 10 seconds). Direct the heat over your image and watch as your sentiment is transformed!
