Bird Ballad Laser-Cut Cards & Tin

Before I share my cards and video, I want to let you know that for the first time EVER, stamp sets are on the Clearance Rack and only available while supplies last! Click here to go to the Clearance Rack!

Also, tomorrow at 10:00 am (Mountain Time), Stampin’ Trimmer Blades will be available again but only while supplies last!

Today’s post is all about a brand new product in the Annual Catalog:  Bird Ballad Laser-Cut Cards & Tin.  Inside the beautiful tin are 12 Very Vanilla Laser-Cut cards and 12 envelopes. Be sure to check out the video below!

My cards today were made using the laser-cut cards and See a Silhouette Designer Series Paper.  When the card is opened, the other side of the paper brightens up the inside of the card! You can dress up the front as I did in the card below or not! The laser-cut front is beautiful with the paper showing through!

Hello Friend

Today’s card was created using Garden Lane Designer Series Paper. It’s part of the Garden Lane Suite which also includes the stamp set Verdant Garden which I also used on my card today.

Garden Lane Designer Series Paper

I don’t normally use more than one stamp set but for this card I did.  The sentiment is from the stamp set, To a Wild Rose, shown below.  Look carefully and you might notice something that will make you shudder.  I cut the stamp, “To Be Your Friend”.  I realized that I would get more out of the stamp set if “friend” was by itself, so I took my Paper Snips and cut it! It IS a little scary but oh so worth it if you’ll use a particular stamp more often.

To a Wild Rose

I used the stamp set Verdant Garden for the pretty little rose.  I thought it would make a nice little touch especially with the pop of color.  I used Watercolor Pencils to color it in and then smoothed it out with the Blender Pen.  Sometimes when you color with pencils, you can see streaks of color and a Blender Pen completely solves that problem! I hand cut the rose which was pretty easy to do.

Directions to Create Today’s Card

  • Cut a piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock that measures 11″ x 4-1/4″.  Score at 5-1/2″ and fold in half.
  • Cut a piece of Garden Lane Designer Series Paper that measures 5-1/4″ x 4″,  Adhere to the front of the card.
  • Cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock that measures 3-3/4″ x 3-1/2″.  Cut a piece of Garden Lane Designer Series Paper that measures 3-1/2″ x 3-1/4″ and then attach it to the piece of Whisper White.  Add Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back and attach to the front of the card.
  • On a piece of Whisper White cardstock, stamp the sentiment using Mossy Meadow ink and the stamp set, To a Wild Rose.  Cut it out using the Stitched Shapes Dies and a die-cutting machine.  Cut another larger circle in Pool Party cardstock using the Layering Circles Dies. You’ll need to make one more circle in Mossy Meadow using the Stitched Shapes Dies.  Layer all the pieces together using Snail. Turn it over and add Stampin’ Dimensionals to the right side and down the center. Turn it back over and attach to the card.
  • Stamp the rose from the stamp set, Verdant Garden, in Memento Ink onto Whisper White cardstock.  Color it using Flirty Flamingo and Old Olive Watercolor Pencils.  Use a Blender Pen to blend and smooth out the colors, if desired.  Add Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back and attach to the sentiment.

Glitter Queens Blog Hop – Saying Goodbye!

Gingham Gala Highland Heather

It’s the first Friday of the month so that means it’s time for the Glitter Queens Blog Hop! There are seven of us participating today and I hope you’ll circle around and see everyone’s project! We are all featuring a retiring product that we’ll miss and I’ve chosen our Gingham Gala 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper.  It has been hugely popular since it debuted in January in the Occasions Catalog.  As of this writing, it’s in stock and it’s my guess it won’t last long so if you love it, get it while you can! Garden Impressions

I went out of my comfort zone a bit with this card.  If you are a regular follower of my blog, I think you’ll notice that this card is a little different from what I normally post. I created the card following a sketch, which is just a starting point and you can change elements of it, which I did.  I went back and forth trying to decide if I wanted to add the So Saffron embossed piece but I decided to keep it – that’s what took me out of my comfort zone! Wow, so daring of me! (more…)
